In the voice of Captain Kirk: "Must. Grab. Profits."

Seems like an easy enough concept...why don't I ever do it? Waaahh.

Because greed is every trader's worst enemy, that's why I always move up my stop as the stock advances. I don't care if I got stopped out because I know profit is profit. Confucius say man who takes profit happy all day.

      yoyo,
I'm in hog heaven. Sure, many of my stocks went down a little today, but , unexpectedly a small local bank I've got 5000 shares of went up 16.48% today and I can't find out why. Volume was more than 11X average and it's up a little more in afterhours. Sometimes the nut falls right on the squirrel's head.

Yup...that's it. I sat there staring at Green AAPL Calls for a few days thinking take the money but noooo...had to look for more. Lesson learned again.

Thanks for confirming it one more time.

            Yoyo,
Went up another 3%, I put in an optimistic sell order and sold 1000 at nearly +20% in less than 2 days. Have got some play money now. Anyway I was probably overloaded somewhat having other bank stocks bought dirt cheap. Time will tell.

              Nice one!

Yay AAPL, pulled me out of it. I held my calls through yesterday's sell off(tankage!) and sold them all today. Almost back to even from yesterday's high. Unfortunately I had doubled down on some AAPL stock toward the close yesterday & was into a Fed Call & didn't feel like dealing with that overnight so I bailed before close & took the hit but the calls were up nicely this morning & I sold. Still might get back into some AAPL later on today.

                Yoyo

I read somewhere that you can make a living just trading AAPL options. I wonder if you have any strategy trading it.

I don't...still trying to figure it out. I had some really good days & thought I was on to something, then I totally got blistered one day & realized I'm an idiot. My problem at first was...calls seem so cheap I piled on & when it went up it was great. Oh yeah it can also go down! That hurt. Anyway I go alot easier on it now. The thing with AAPL right now is the iPad release so it's interesting to me...there's action to be had selling the premiums even though I know people say you can't make any money with options unless you're writing them. I think you can trade the premiums successfully...past few days have been okay.

But in answer to your question...still trying to figure out a strategy. Buy low, sell high still seems to work when you can pull it off.
