What online stock brokers do you use?

I'm currently using TDAmeritrade for both stocks and options. So far I'm liking TD because it's simple and a $9.99 flat-rate for stocks trading. As for options, I think the price is a bit pricey at $9.99 + .75 per contract.

I'm looking into other lower fee broker since I'm starting to trade options. I've heard alot about OptionsHouse and their price seems cheap for both stocks and options. Does anyone here uses OptionsHouse or other online brokers that you like?

Call AMTD and tell them you are only willing to pay $5 per stock trade....In fact, better yet tell em $4.00 altho I couldn't get em down to $4.

I use TDAmeritrade for 3 accounts and will soon be opening an Interactive Brokers account to trade stocks, commodity futures, forex, and those box office futures contracts if IB can get them... I can tell from the previews whether a movie is going to do well at the box office, or not. Hollywood puts out more crap than anything else, so I'll be mainly short. But there are bound to be a few dark horses to bet on

I use options express. if you are active you will be able to get them down around $7.95 or so but you must be active. not necessarily a big player but an active player. i have been using them for years and can honestly say that i have never had a problem or a dispute with them and i make alot of online trades. I dont trade in options that much but i know they are cheaper than $9.95 and .75 per contract.

Are you a full time trader and pay only $5? I'm not a full time trader so I don't know if they would lower my trade price.

i dont know what doug is paying but he is an active daily trader so maybe he is paying $5 but i wouldnt bet on it. the amount in the acct and the number of trades you make will determine what they will give you. active and very active traders always get the best prices. sometimes heavy activity or volume will win out over the amount you might put up in a single trade. or they might say make 50 trades a month and you'll get the $5 commission rate.

Scottrade...I'm too lazy to change. I've played with the Think Or Swim Demo alot but I just can't get a grip on it so I stay with Scottrade. I kinda have a dislike/not dislike as much thing going with them.

actually one should get a overall understanding about stock brokers in the market then approach one which gives best to their needs. for example zecco seems really good if you are high volume

I use Scottrade for Stocks ($7 a trade), and CMS for Forex (they went from 2 pip trades to variable, grrrr) . I don't have any complaints about either, though I've not really played with any other brokers so I may not be aware there is someone better.

I've always wanted an IB account, but don't have the funds at the moment. Just to put all my eggs in one basket rather than 2 separate brokers...

You just call them AMTD or Scottrade...Tell them you know your friends pay less...At Scottrade you will have to talk to the Branch Manager...I would not pay more than $5.00...However, consider this...What's the worst that can happen...They say no.

And I'll tell ya...You do not have to be a Super Active trader...You just need to be able to talk a good game...Especially w/ AMTD

Take a serious look at IB. You need experience and 10k though.
