The recriminations of this result will go on for months when the team arrive back in the next few days. The wager as i mentioned, i could purchase 23 shares at £3.03 and keep them for you for twelve months or just send you a cheque for $100 you can always PM me your e-mail address and then swap addresses that way. You seem to like a good novel or two, i live approx 3miles where Charlotte Bronte was born (Wuthering Heights) but alas i am indeed not a poet!. Yes i can still hear you screaming as the 1st 2nd 3rd and fourth goal found the back of the net..LOL..
Micro, I sent you an email from here. If you didn't get it, let me know. River

England just turned up again as usual and showed the world how not to play football they were CRAP and very lucky to have not been beaten by at least 6-1 aw well there's always the next world cup. Back to the wager i hope you like BP because that's what i am going to purchase some time tomorrow for ya and i may just have a few for myself!! you can check on how they are doing by going on Yahoo finance and typing BP.L i say this because they are trading at £3.03 on the London stock exchange but on the DOW $27.02???, i didn't know that you can have one company and float the stock on different exchanges!! Germany showed how to rip open a totally inept back 4 and how to counter attack with blistering speed and pinpoint passing, once again River "i doth my cap and tug my forelock";( and no the last phrase is not rude or offensive in anyway).

Great game Ghana Vs. USA. Tough loss, incredible how Ghana was milking the clock in OT. I wish they would change the rules and stop the clock when someone is injured, kicking corner, etc. Oh well.... go get em England!

.......Your picture is a cracker and i would hang it on my wall anytime! i was just thinking of losing the fish that's all. As for the wager how about you invest $100 in any stock of your choice for me if Germany looses and i would invest the equivalent in pounds on the London stock market if England looses?
As for your uncle flying Lancaster bombers! the fella and all those who flew those flying coffins have and always will have my greatest admiration and respect until the day i die!! They must have thought that every trip was their last and that takes nerves of steel. As for wetting my pants i would have had a diaper on or just not gone.Did you know that the anti-aircraft guns around London in those bad old days were not big enough to fire flack etc.. high enough to bring any German bombers down? %99 of German planes were shot down by the RAF using Spitfires and Hurricanes etc they are another group of men who had nerves of steel. The guns around London was more of a PR exercise to keep the "Cockneys" moral up. Anyway back to the wager if you fancy the stock thing, the investment to last a year or longer; i will leave the choice up to you.

Hats off to your uncles but may i ask how do you loose a Lancaster bomber let alone 2? They were primarily a night time bomber with several crew but the buggers were 70ft x 102ft i suppose if you parked one of those up and went to the pub and had a skinful
you just might not see it for a minute or three until you walked into it!!!! Only joking. LOL... Are you being a bad girl and using company time to visit MrMkt??.

So, a word of explanation: I have only German blood in me. I'm maybe the only one on this forum who can say that. An awful lot of Germans emigrated to Canada in the early 1800s and all intermarried. But, two of my uncles fought for England in the RCAF, manning those radar stations on the south coast during the Battle of Britain. Another was a bomber pilot (Lancasters). You can imagine where he was. He lost two planes, but never lost a crew.

So, with that understanding, I'm willing to take the Allemagne side of any bet you might like to place.

    River and micro,
I like a little offense. Yesterday was the first time I saw a team get 3 goals in a game. Fastpitch softball was huge around here until the 1960's. An oldtimer told me it died out because the pitchers became too dominant. Nobody wanted to see 1-0 games anymore so slowpitch took over and the homerun hitters became the new stars. River, speaking of dominant pitching, you must remember the "king and his court" a 4 person softball team that traveled the states taking on all challengers. I think Eddie Feigner pitched into his 80's. He came to our town when I was a kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWkUk4mYN9w

......Your team "The Grease Fairies" need to beat Chile this afternoon otherwise they will be following their neighbours Italy home.As i said earlier Italy have started to make a complete arse of any competition in the later stages just as England do! We wont be going much further, if we beat Germany on Sunday we will probably face (hand of God team) Argentina then ????? and Brazil. The US should do well because they are in line to play teams that are not so good and could with better finishing reach the semi-finals if not the finals themselves!!! All the best to both teams and i realy do hope England do well because my local pub has loads of beer left

    About time!!!!!!

Talk about making a meal out of it!! England just scraped through with a single goal. Team US left it to the dying minutes to qualify for the last 16, Both teams had god knows how many chances and they must both improve on their finishing otherwise they wont go much further! A lot of the whipping boys are out,now its time to sort out the girls from the boys.
