Sorry, please elaborate? What exactly do you think will replace the PC and in what capacity? Notebooks? Netbooks? Tablets? Smartphones? Cloud computing? I see none of the above being a suitable replacement for my line of work and I'm sure there are plenty of other businesses out there that will agree with me. I could say the same about hardware running OSX/Linux as well. Are we talking about hardware only or software too?

I think a more accurate question would be "when expensive computers become extinct", since cheapy computers and laptops seem sufficient for everyday tasks. That means that the Apple and other such high end systems will also be in the same boat. The only difference is that Apple has other products to rely on. I would argue that Microsoft has other products and services to offer as well.

That aside, sorry, I don't really agree with you, or at least not for anytime in the near future.
