Ski just called me on a badly-breaking up cell. Toms River is devastated with huge trees and power poles down all over the place. No electricity. Couldn't hear well enough to know if house damage. He and wife are okay but can't even get off their property. Clean up is going to be major problem. Saw on weather channel that storm center made landfall twice, at Hatteras and at Little Egg Harbor (30 min. south of Toms River) up to now.

Ernie, Peter, Derrick (dmk) and others affected please check in. Could hardly sleep last night worrying about everybody.

No Problem Here!

I live in Wayne Hills NJ , aptly named because my home is situated on a flat property basically on top of a hill. Personally I think the press had overblown the whole storm ......all I had is a few leaves which had blown down in my back yard and not a drop of water in my basement.
Home Depot and Lowes made out like bandits .....a Stop & Shop near my home had the best day ever last Friday 190K .
I see childen riding bikes out side. Power and all cable is underground ....hence no outages.
Thank God and my prayers go out to all not as fortunate.
