How the heck does S&P gain 170 points in 16 trading days out of thin air? The Greek cut a deal tonight with private creditor taking 50% haircut and the futures up another 14 S&P points? We need to put those crooks to jail.

Take this. The past two weeks, market was rigged upward simply by some politicians saying the same thing over and over again about planning to have a plan on a deal and market rallies. And when someone spread bad rumors to make the market go down, our politicians want to investigate who did it and put them in jail. I'm definitely believe our government is the ponzi scheme.

I agree 100%. I've been pacing my living room saying this to myself for 2 months now. There have been days where I'm gripping my hair and saying, "WTF? This doesn't make sense!" Then I take my 2 yr old daughter's advice and go outside to play.

And since it's "earnings season" I have to put up with my quarterly rantings in the shower about stock analysts as well. It doesn't matter how well your earnings really are, if they're not as good as these analysts want, your stock gets killed. And if you beat their expectations, your stock pops. I don't think these analysts estimates on quarterly earnings should exist, it just leads to manipulation, fraud, insider trading, and the likes. Stock should trade on actual revenues and earnings, not what Joe Jackwagon at Goldman Sachs wants. And I hate brokerage recommendations too. Changing it from "buy" to "strong buy" is stupid, but it moves the price of the stock every time.

what amazes me is that our economy is in terrible shape, all the corporations are sending their jobs overseas, we've got a two bozo's in Obama and Biden faking to be leaders, there are no jobs or jobs being developed, yet the markets continue to move higher. I've been trading occasionally but have really cut way way back on the number of trades I made this year because I think it is a suckers market and being manipulated to move in the direction the bigger hedge funds want to move it. keep your money in your pockets, you'll last longer. they will get the message soon enough if enough people do so. And vote this charlatan out of office in 2012.

#2 The markets are not Fair.

You can do one of two things.
#1 Don’t play the game.
#2 Use that knowledge to your advantage.

Figure out who is manipulating the market and how, then ride on their coat tails

Remember that whenever the market doesn’t do what you want it to do; there is someone on the other side of the trade who is quite happy.

Stocks don’t go up because companies do well or do poorly. Stocks go up and down depending on supply and demand. If a stock is marketed well enough to create more demand from buyers than there are sellers, the stock will go up. What about fundamentals? Fundamentals is a word invented by sellers to find buyers.

Price/earnings ratios, price/sales, the present value of future cash flows, pick one. Fundamentals are merely metrics created to help stockbrokers sell stocks, and to give the buyers reassurance when buying stocks. Even the way profits are calculated is manipulated to give confidence to buyers.
