Too bad. Lots of kids are gonna be screwed up for life. For what apparently, according to grand jury testimony, is a cover up to save a pal. What the he11 was he thinking? And they rally around in Pa.Kind of reminds me of OJ. Sad state of affairs.

There are only a few instances when I would condone violence. When child molesters go to jail they are treated as the scum of the scum among the entire prison population... guards and inmates HATE these pervs. That is when I condone violence... let the guards and inmates pummel them on a daily basis. Let them live in their own waste like pigs. Let them be fearful daily, hourly, minute by minute. Let them get a few shivs in the crotch. Cut off their hands, burn their faces. They are not human.

I don't think this guy will ever be put in general population inside a bad place like Trenton or Rahway or anywhere in PA just because of what those guys would do to him. He'll do his time in some federal prison far away from the bad guys. If they were to put him inside one of the regular joints he wouldn't last 1 day and then his family would be suing the state.
I do agree with Peanuts. I would throw him in with the other murderers and deviates and let him see how it feels to get it like he gave it to those kids.

I don't know exactly what the charges are but I don't think he could be placed in a Federal prison unless they were Federal crimes.

What gets me is why it took 2 years after it was reported to the Police?

No one can excuse Paterno but what I also don't understand is why the assistant coach who saw the rape in progress just literally walked away from it. An ex-quarterback in the prime of life he could not have been physically afraid. Did he make an on the spot calculation that if he challenged this influential ex-coach that he would hurt his own career? And later when he saw nothing was done he still kept silent.

I think he does not now feel that he made the correct decision. Fortunately I think a number of people who followed this story may now be equipped to make the correct decision. There's a pony in there somewhere.
