    Ibd

    Mr. Market & Associates,

I am somewhat interested in getting a subscription for the online IBD.

I know you include the IBD scans in your scanning routine.

How important do you actually think IBD is? I.e. are your "winners" usually coming from the IBD scans, or could they just as well be coming from your other scans?

I assume many of the stocks found in IBD scan are also included in the other scans?

You've been a member since 2009, so I assume that you have already figured out that IIC (a forum member, named Doug) does a similar top 100 stocks that IBD does. It's a fantastic resource.

If the only thing that you want is ticker symbols, then don't waste your money on a subscription and look for Doug's IIC 100 list instead. But if you want cheerleading and articles to read, then pay for a subscription. Just be sure to check your credit card statements so that you don't get charges after you cancel. Happened to me.

Dump your criteria into the finvis.com free screener and you’ll get a similar list.

What you don’t get is the noise.

IBD ranks stocks on fundaments and recommends trading on technicals.

If you have the discipline all you need are the technicals. You can use fundies to keep the list manageable.

            pftrader,
I'd say IBD alienates 50% of its potential customers by giving a political lean to most of their articles. I don't want to read a left or right leaning publication just the stock facts please!
