Cash back and free gifts are a measure of how sure companies are to get your money in the end. The first advice to people who want to get their finances in order is to get rid of their credit cards. I did a quick check to find out which terms and what nots applied and discovered that "I would receive a detailed version of the terms with my card" (or first statement, or some such nonsense). There is no way to win against a credit card company, or if there is, it is not worth the trouble.

Errm, what I mean is, don't advertise them here, please.

KAREL, no problem. My only intention was for Mr Market readers to get free CASH, but I understand your point, no free ads. I have done this with several companies and have gotten bonuses exceeding $2,000 . One must remember that if you insist on carrying a balance the credit companies will HOSE you. I do not have a balance on any of my cards , pay off all in FULL monthly and am currently getting back 5% on groceries , 3% on Gasoline and at least a 1% Cash Back on all other categories.
The only way to beat the credit card companies is NEVER to carry a BALANCE! If you cannot do that PAY CASH, because even debit cards fees are continuously rising and you get NOTHING BACK!

OK P7, thank you. And yes, never carrying a balance is the way to go, but with a credit card burning in your hands that is more than most people manage.
