    GOV Shutdown / Debt Default

Is it too early to be starting this discussion? What is everyone opinion of the shutdown? How long will it last? Good thing or bad?

We are rushing up to the debt cieling. Anyone think we will hit it and default? What does a US default look like? Is it good or bad for the markets? Is it a good thing or bad thing overall?

    Love any and all comments.

We shall look back one year from now and find that this was a minor diversion , all B.S.! Much ado over nothing!

I think the situation only reinforces the idea that "the U.S. is out of control" to the world. The US needs to come up with a real plan to stabilize the economy. These bandaid solutions only prolong the inevitable, which is a massive reset. I think it will be a painful but necessary process. Regardless of how things go down there will always be a way to profit from it. But for the sake of the citizens I really hope a solution is found soon.

If they could just reverse the trend and spend less than what they bring in, that would be an enormous boost of confidence. The government should sell some assets that they don't need.

They should start by giving back healthcare to the private sector. Then if they would stop abusing the interstate commerce clause this country would be back on track.
