Trading the VIX

Hi all.

I am wondering if anyone here trades the VIX (in one way or another).

Personally, I just loaded up on VIIX (under 69) as the VIX, in my opinion, is unrealistically too low.

Any discussion is welcomed!

I assume you mean day trading or perhaps only holding an ETF FOR A DAY OR TWO AT MOST!
Is that how you do it?

Buying the VIIX ETF for very short term.
If catching the right side day trading would be ideal; but realistically I have been trading it with the longest hold time 4-5 days.
My motivation to post the topic is in relation to a generalization of how low can the VIX really go.

Should there really be this low level of volatility?
While the latest DC antics have averted what could have been much worse, it was and still is pretty bad, as well as temporary, and as markets are looking forward I see the exuberance short lived.
