    A Simple, Beautiful Holiday Story!

    TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING

    THROUGH THE DESERT .

    DURING SOME POINT OF THE

    JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN

    ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND

    SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE

    IN THE FACE

    THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED

    WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT

    SAYING ANYTHING,

    WROTE IN THE SAND ,

    TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE .

    THEY KEPT ON WALKING,

    UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,

    WHERE THEY DECIDED

    TO TAKE A BATH.

    THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN

    SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE

    MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING,

    BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

    AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM

    THE NEAR DROWNING,

    HE WROTE

    ON A STONE:

    'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

    SAVED MY LIFE'

    THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED

    AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND

ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU,

YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,

YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?'

    THE FRIEND REPLIED

    'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US

    WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN

    IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF

    FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,

WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE

    WHERE NO WIND

    CAN EVER ERASE IT'

    LEARN TO WRITE

    YOUR HURTS IN

    THE SAND AND TO

    CARVE YOUR

    BENEFITS IN STONE.

    THEY SAY IT TAKES A

    MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL

    PERSON,

    AN HOUR TO

    APPRECIATE THEM,
    A DAY
    TO LOVE THEM,

    BUT THEN,

    AN ENTIRE LIFE

    TO FORGET THEM.

    TELL THIS TO

    THE PEOPLE YOU'LL NEVER

    FORGET.

    I JUST DID.

    IF YOU DON'T

    TELL IT TO ANYONE,

    IT MEANS YOU'RE IN A

    HURRY AND THAT YOU'VE

    FORGOTTEN YOUR FRIENDS.

    TAKE THE TIME TO LIVE!

    DO NOT VALUE THE THINGS

YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE, BUT

VALUE WHO YOU HAVE KNOWN IN YOUR LIFE!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start

anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."

    The Interview with God
I dreamed I had an interview with God.'Come in', God said, 'So you would like to interview Me?'
'If you have the time' - I said.
    God smiled and said
    'My time is eternity and is enough to do everything;
what questions do you have in mind to ask me?'

'What surprises you most about mankind?' - I asked.
    God answered:
'That they get bored with being children; are in rush to grow up,
and then long to be children again.
That they lose their health to make money
and then lose their money to restore their health.
That by thinking anxiously about their future,
they forget the present, such that they live neither
for the present nor for the future.
That they live as if they will never die,
and die as if they had never lived...'

God's hands shook and we were silent for a while.
Then I asked - 'As a parent, what are some of life's
lessons you want your children to learn?'

    God replied with a smile,
'To learn that they cannot make anyone love them,
what they can do is to let themselves be loved.
To learn that what is most valuable is not
what they have in their lives,
but how they have in their lives.
To learn that it is not good to compare
    themselves to others....

To learn that a rich person, is not the one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.
To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open
profound wounds in person we love
and that it takes many years to heal them.

To learn that there are people who love them dearly,
but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.
To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.
to learn that two people can look at the same thing
    and see it totally differently.
To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything
    about them...and likes them anyway.
To learn that it is not always enough that
    they be forgiven by others,
but that they have to forgive themselves'

People will forget what you said,
People will forget what you did,
    But people will never forget
    How you made them feel.

        Two Horses

        Author Unknown
Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse.

But if you get a closer look you will notice something quite interesting...

One of the horses is blind.

His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made him a safe and comfortable barn to live in.

        This alone is pretty amazing.

But if you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. It is coming from a smaller horse in the field.

Attached to the horse's halter is a small, copper-colored bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, he will stop occasionally to look back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect. Or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse, being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.

And at other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way.
