No, I haven't run a 5k in over a year, maybe do 1 or 2 per year. I'm doing about 10 half marathons per year (12 if you count the marathon as 2) though, which is where most of my PR's are occurring this year. I wanted to bang 'em all out as a PR, but that isn't happening quite how I wanted, so I'm taking my 5k PR and slightly adjusting my sights on the goal, just to keep myself amused and motivated. If I need to, I may count the 10k I'm running next month, and a 50k later in the year toward the PR goal. The 50k will be automatic, since I've never attempted one before!

Jiesen, You're not even in your prime yet. Many PR's to go . Wasn't a major marathon won by a 38 year old man within the last year? Can't remember which one. Any triathlons or sprint triathlons on the horizon?

Yep, that'd be Meb Keflezighi, the other San Diegan runner that Louetta and I've mentioned a few times earlier in this thread. And he's 39 now, the same age as I am! He won Boston this April, then came back to San Diego to run the R&R Half Marathon two weeks ago. I jokingly said earlier that I beat him, but it's because he paced the 1:30 group, and so he finished with a 1:27. I came in at 1:26, which is my fastest time ever- but that's a jog through the park for Meb.

Now to rest those sore legs and blistered feet... had my fill of meats and cheeses already, and even my order for ALK was filled!
Jiesen, are you doing New York?

No, I think my next full marathon will be Honolulu next year. NY would be a good one to do someday, tho!

Jiesen, You and Louetta are inspiring me to attempt swimming 200 miles ( 352,000 yards) this year. It's possible if I don't get sick or injured, the pool doesn't close for maintenance, and I throw in a few extra miles in November and December. Ended October at 155.224 miles.

nice job, Billyjoe! you should reach that 200, just tack on a few extra laps wherever you can, and you'll get there.

I'm aiming to get up to 90 miles/week this month, and then 100 by middle of Dec. So far have been at 65-85 miles for a few months, and have been PRing on each race since Feb. My 1:27:40 half PR has dropped this year to 1:24 and change, so it's really time to hunker down and work to get these last 2 in the bag.

Looks like Jeptoo was likely doping when she won this race, so maybe my finishing place needs to be adjusted up by 1!

I was surprised to hear that. Mayhap because I never associated it with the Kenyans.

Now if FB would just return to its correct value of $7/shr then at least I would get goal #1 done.

                        2) Run 13 Marathon or Half-Marathon PR's in 12 races, including the Boston Marathon.

If I accomplish either or both of these, I'd be super happy!
(and if I can do both early, I'll invite 6'4" over to my place to learn Heart&Soul before Xmas!)
Well, my race results are in for the year and I'm happy to report that I have achieved a total of 14* PR's in 12 races this year. While I technically didn't get a PR in every Half Marathon race I ran (my excuse is that I got sick in January), and so failed in achieving the original goal, I did hit a slightly modified target (this is counting 5k, 10k, and 50k results as well as my half races) and so I'm feeling pretty good about it. I counted the times of 8 Half Marathons, one Full Marathon, one 5k, three 10k's, and one 50k (my first and only) race. The double-counts are that my Boston Marathon also had a 1st half faster than any previous of my half marathons, and that my August half had a 10k time recorded faster than any of my previous 10k times. My new Half PR as of today is 1:20 down from a previous PR of 1:27 that I started the year with.

Now if FB would just get to $7 already, I'd get that first goal nailed, and I really would be happy! (Just give it more time, and I think it'll get there)

*One could argue that a few of these runs shouldn't count as PR's for various reasons (running under another name, short courses, etc) but I'm counting these all as PR's anyway for purposes of this goal.

Wow, congratulations. That was indeed an ambitious goal!

Good job, Jiesen! I'm looking for FB to hit $100 in 2015. Am at about 198.5 miles with 2 more times to swim. Will hit 200miles at approx. 6:40 A.M. Dec.31st.

Many $100-$200 losses. This year my methods have changed, longer holding time, greater gains, higher quality stocks, more like Mr.Market if that is possible.

Didn't quite meet this goal. Just checked realized gains/losses for 2014 and amazingly again had 53% winners. The good news is dollar gains were 3X losses. Made some big changes mid year and will check success rate from that point. Have some dynamite unrealized gains. I know I can get to 60% or better winners for 2015.
