I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Here are my five favorites...I will buy one of these soon:
ANIK
CXDC
HII
LUV
UIHC
Which one do you like? and why??
I ruled out ANIK because the biotech sector is currently out of favor. I ruled out HII because the military haven't even asked for RFPs for the new warship yet. Could be a long wait if you're banking on it. Beginning to hate all companies chinese (witness WX), so out goes CDXC. I'm left with UIHC (going ex-div today so should be a good technical buy in next few days) and LUV LUV LUV (what's not to love?).
Pick LUV because I already own it +7.87%. I'm looking at a royal flush in airlines. DAL + 15%, SAVE +15%, ALK and LUV waiting to take off and AAL +105% earlier in April. Throw in TRN for S&L +12%. Life is good.
Just sold my position on UIHC. This is a tough one. LUV would be my pick without a good reason except, like mentioned, the airlines seem to be doing well. Very uneducated opinion. Except today. :^(
I own HII, LUV and UIHC already so any of them would be good from my perspective.
Personally I have enough chinese company in my portfolio and also too many pharmas with huge losses...
Based on its name I initially threw out China XD Plastics (CXDC), but then I started reading and realized this does not resemble any previous China play I have entered.
Their claims are quite impressive with a 30 year corporate background in R&D with nylon and plastics and a 10 year track record with this current company structure which they cite customers like
Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, GM Mazda, and Toyota in their automotive sector, which is just a small segment of what they manufacture. There is a huge new plant under construction (slightly ahead of schedule) that is anticipated to double their top and bottom lines by 2016-2017
I just read the conference call transcript and need to do more due diligence but between these earnings released today and the fundamentals I see posted, I am seriously eyeing CXDC for a longer term position.
Did a little looking into CXDC. My analysts don't cover it. But its looking like I'm jumping in on this one. Come on MM! Looking for your blessing on this one. ' Course it may be the wrong one.. but, if its made it into the top 5, I'm looking closely. Many thanks to everyone here who chimes in and educates ignorates like me. And thanks tiedyed1 for your bit of diligence. And River, we could all use a little more love, er LUV.

I want to thank Mr. Market (and this board for all member contributions) for bringing CXDC to my attention on 5/14.
Took a position at $8.64 on 5/15 and it continues to hit new highs with heavy volume touching $11.05 today for an unrealized gain of 27% in 2 weeks.
As the volume is strong I am continuing to hold as it appears that now with the share price >$10 CXDC is getting more attention and from what I read on the Earnings Call I feel that another 20% is not out of the question as they get closer to getting their new factory up and running (which remains ahead of schedule).
