The airline sector had a great day. Lots of movement and breaking out of bases prior to many reporting earnings this week. What is everyone's expectations of earnings for this group?

In particular I like LUV, ALK, and JBLU.

Lucavia, The airlines have been hot for a long time. They were going sideways for a while now seem to be building steam for another run. Mr.Market has big winners in SAVE, DAL, ALK, and LUV. AAL , DAL, and LUV were big winners for me also. Until earnings reports start going bad they still seem to be good bets. I wish some other industries would follow with multiple great gainers lasting for a year or more. Utilities have been very strong. I've got LUV,ALK, and JBLU rated 1,2, and 4 out of maybe 12 good airline stocks.

AAL earnings this AM look great. Stock slightly lower in PM. Sold 1/4 of shares ahead of earnings for >10%. Still holding the rest.

Sold my SAVE and LUV for nice gains while holding DAL and AAL.
On DAL and AAL I am also writing covered calls as well as selling Puts.

ALK... What, what, why... Did anybody see this day coming and/or explain what what why? Record earnings = 9% drop.

Sell off on news...it will take a little longer, but it will get there.

Airlines are looking good today. Picked up some SKYW and RJET and already own a little HA. ALK has a nice looking chart to consider.

With oil dropping like a rock Airlines should see a dramatic rise. Good time to hold positions in airlines.

Anyone looking to airlines once again? They have had a nice pullback. In particular I like JBLU at these levels.

I still like airlines. You could probably make money on most of them. Still holding LUV. These are all rated as buys : HA, ALK, LUV, AAL, ALGT, DAL, RYAAY, VA, JBLU, RJET, SKYW, VLRS

Bot ALK yesterday before earnings. Up 5.06%. Will wait a bit I think.
Still have SWKS prior to today's AH earnings. Up 12.01%. Still holding.
JNS also up by 12.42% post earnings. Still hangin' in there.
