    Good list but #5 confounds me here. Mr. Market lists all of his picks in real time and tracks them. The meats and cheeses crap aside there is no doubt about what his picks have done. And he is an excellent bench presser.

    Contrast this to someone like Jim Cramer who daily fires off four dozen or so opinions on stocks and CEOs but there is no tracking of how one would do if one did what he said. And they put him on CNBC for up to two hours a day.

      Louetta, Some people wouldn't trust Mr.Market even if he could prove he was right 100% of the time. There were plenty of haters on the old IBD forum. You had to conform to the agenda.

        I well remember that, was a senior in high school. Many on IBD considered Mr. Market a pompous bag of wind. But a few immediately saw he wasn't a bit pompous, joined his forum and never looked back.

        The real answer probably is closer to the fact that nobody wants to wait 4-6 weeks to make what they consider a paltry 15%. Maybe you do have to go to Wharton to learn about compounding.

          I've been able to debunk nearly every stock tout that has sent me an e-mail, a letter, or appeared on a financial network for the last 15 years except Mr.Market.

            My experience with people, money and stocks

            1. they think the stock market is a crap shoot-- no matter what.

            2. they do not understand investing. they are overwhelmed by this forums

            knowledge and understanding of stocks. thus so many lurkers.

                  10% HAIRCUT TODAY despite decent earnings and growth.
                  I guess not as much growth as market was counting on, but still solid fundamentals.
                  I wish I knew what people are thinking when dumping their shares, but in the mean time I doubled down at $75.41 and will wait for the Mr. Market pick to get back towards goal with twice as many shares!

                  Any thoughts from others here appreciated;
                  -Adam
