We would like to invite you toa very special evening that supports an important cause and also provides aunique, once in a lifetime opportunity to engage and interact with 3 famouscoaches and many of your friends in the community at one of Princeton's iconiclocal venues.
The Cause
This event is sponsored byDerek's Dreams and is in support of A-T research. AT stands for AtaxiaTelangiectasia. A-T is a brutal, progressive, rare genetic disease thataffects about 600 Americans. The disease attacks children causing loss ofmuscle control, cancer, and immune system problems.
As many of you know, thisdisease has impacted one of our local children, Derek DiGregorio. Derekwas diagnosed with AT in 2009. Derek, now 17 and a junior at PrincetonHigh School continues to inspire us with his positive attitude and his sense ofhumor. He is PHS's number 1 sports fan, he is a regular in the weightroom there, and has a job coordinating social media at the local karatestudio. Derek still loves to do all of the things he always has likecaring for his animals and reading.
The DiGregorio family hasdedicated themselves to making Derek's life as easy and as loving as possiblewhile raising their family. The family has benefited greatly frommany others who have committed their time and money to help address thechallenges of living with A-T and to help find a cure. Because A-Tis so rare, there is a limited amount of research being done, one of the bestways we can help Derek, the DiGregorio's and others affected by A-T is to doeverything we can to accelerate the research efforts being done in severalplaces in the U.S. and abroad. This is why we have created this specialevent.
The Event
In collaboration with the A-TChildren's Project, Derek's Dreams has created a unique event that will bringtogether three very special friends of the A-T cause -Dallas Cowboys CoachJason Garrett, Georgetown Hoyas Coach John Thompson III and Hall of Famer andformer Princeton and Sacramento Kings Coach Pete Carril. The "Nightwith Coaches" event will be an evening of pizza, beer, friendship,laughter, great stories and conversation. Importantly through thisevent, we hope to raise over $100,000 that will go directly to the researchefforts.
The event will be held onWednesday July 15th at 7pm at Conte's Pizza inPrinceton. Tickets are $1,000 per person and are taxdeductible. Space will be limited so please visit us at the link below toconfirm your spot.
If you cannot attend, we askthat you please consider making a donation to the cause. No amount is too smallor too large. In fact, we're really counting on this secondary method ofcontributions to take this event over the top.
