Well half of the year 2017 is now behind us and NO CRASH THUS FAR! This article published in 12/2016 does issue 3 warning sings which are apparent now . Read This article
and let me know what you think. Of course they are trying to sell you something , but I did not buy anything . They do appear to make some good points! https://moneymorning.com/2016/12/06/...uld-be-coming/

Well let me say this about that, as the Kennedys used to say. No one cares what they say now.

From right after the mid-term election in 2014 til just before the Trump election, 2 years, the S&P was essentially flat. Since then it is up about 15%. 15% in two 1/2 years hardly seems like a "surge" so comparing it to 1929 seems odd.

Also "FactSet reports S&P 500 corporate earnings in Q3 were down more than 2% and mark the sixth straight quarter of earnings declines" refers, of course, to last year. We have just started Q3 in 2017 and earnings are good so far in what's been reported in Q2 and were good in Q1 and are supposed to be good in Q3.

When stalwarts like HD and LOW can lose 5% in one day, like today, and KR is down 30% on the year things hardly look overheated.

Watch Ernie's stocks (at least the recent picks). When the momentum stocks start to fail we are usually in for trouble.

I am not scared of a good pull back. The only people who should be scared are index fund buyers and other ignorant (aka diversified) investors. I believe plenty of good companies will perform well, even in a "crash". I think Louetta makes a good point about momentum stocks.
Math doesn't lie, but people do.

One pundit on the internet suggests investing in companies that have "Unstoppable Trends" , and these should do well under most most stock market conditions. Three such companies are:

          1. MSFT http://performance.morningstar.com/s...&culture=en_US

          2. BDX http://performance.morningstar.com/s...n.action?t=BDX

          3. RTN http://performance.morningstar.com/s...n.action?t=RTN
