Tom Brady hurt his hand...but that won't stop me from making a winning pick...here are my 5 favorites from the most recent data dump:

    EDUC HTHT NMIH PETS PHM

Which one do you like....and why?

I will buy one of these soon......

I like EDUC and PETS best of these, both with solid financials, and a good sector to be buying right now. NMIH and HTHT both scare me, as the businesses look a bit too risky, and with NVR already bought, I would hesitate to put more in the homebuilding sector with a PHM buy (though it does look nice, too).

If housing tanks again, then NVR and PHM both are going to crash, just like KBH and TOL did back in the last disaster. Also, NMIH would probably be toast, too.

I liked PETS in the last top 5 and it is much higher now; still within an industry that keeps on growing as money spent on pets continues to grow. (I know I spend a lot on my puppy and do look for online alternatives rather than purchasing through vet).

However, I remain intrigued with HTHT. They manage 359,530 hotel rooms within 3541 hotels, and most of them are via franchised management so less exposure to getting stuck with a failed piece of real estate. Also, the focus is on low to mid range priced rooms and with a whole Country in its stage of relatively early growth, this established company and business model that appears to be working and substantially growing is very encouraging.

        My pick is HTHT.

I'm suspect of some of them, but not PETS. The combination of animals and internet seems unbeatable even if there's an economic downturn.

PETS fits the profile of a MrMarket stock.

I also think PETS would fit very good in the profile of mrmarket 15% stock.

After reading everyone's comments on PETS, and then doing a bit of reading, I decided to buy a chunk of it before the market closed on Friday, in anticipation of its earnings announcement at 8:00 AM today, also its small float of 17M shares, and also having 5.7 M shares short. Turns out it was a good gamble so far.

Mimo, I put in a lowball bid at the time of 50.25 and got it filled. The reaction to a great earnings report, dividend increase, and upgraded guidance is crazy. PETS is a great company.

I put my money on HTHT on Fri and bought at $154.70. (Another thing i like about HTHT are the covered call premiums as well.)
HTHT remains my pick of the Top 5.

I saw it trading at 49 or so, and decided to pick some up today, too....
