    VCEL....thoughts

I like the price action on this company....last quarter's earnings and revenue growth showed a big jump. Read up on the product...looks like the medical community is accepting this procedure....the applications are unlimited....just need insurance companies to cover it...however as more physicians approve it not only will costs go down but likelihood of insurance coverage will increase. Obviously speculative but the drivers are all going in the right direction...

I used to like this one back when it was Aastrom. Stem cells are the future of biotech, you've just got to pick the right player in the market, and you will do well with it. VCEL is as good as any, I suppose, but I'd need to do some more checking before I could be sure. One good thing about this company, is they won't have to pay any taxes for a good long time...

I love the chart, but I need to include in my thoughts about biotech have changed over the past couple of years where I look at it differently. While there are tremendous new scientific capabilities we are seeing to address health issues, I now hesitate to invest in these companies.

Cellular therapies to regenerate tissue, CRSPR technology to repair DNA carrying diseases, cures for previously incurable diseases are all truly blowing my mind and are things I never imagined I would ever see in my lifetime. VERY exciting stuff. BUT, I am no longer as excited about these things as an investment. Ever since I got excited in GILD curing Hepatitis B and saw that while they cured a widespread disease they did not have exclusivity to a blockbuster drug that would have millions of people subscribing to for many years forward. One time fixes are not what markets want and while we look at the potential for future earnings, the markets do not get excited about a single or limited prescription pill or procedure for 'one and done' and I fear this type of Star Trek mind blowing science may be viewed as just that.

Not knocking any of these companies and have been blown away by what they are working on. Just not sure how to be confident in making money from them (and time frames that may take an extremely long time frame; and I do not buy a company's stock waiting for a buyout to make my gains) .

I need to look more thoroughly about this particular stock and just sharing that lately I have chosen to sit on the sidelines watching great science be created; while as it may be great science that has initial momentum; may not be as an exciting stock investment.

Just my .02 on something to consider when making your own decisions.

Couple of reports out today, Piper Jaffray raised their price target to $16. Also Mutual of America Capital Management LLC reported to the SEC buying 400,000 shares during the last quarter. Also Quantitative Systematic Strategies LLC bought a new position. All these were reported today on Google, didn't check to see if they were previously reported.
