Going long with MPW, go Pats!

Game on! It was about this time last year that my pick took a major dive.

Nice pick. I think this is the first time I've seen you pick a high price stock. Good Luck.

You beat me to it. I swear I was just about to post that for once I'm on top.

I have changed my strategy this year. Past few I figured that to win I would need like a 200% increase and thus picked some wild-assed stock that would either crash and burn or cash in big (e.g. a shipping company, a Greek bank). This year I have picked a stock I actually own (4 Jan. 2020 $90 calls).

Hope so. Some say the lady who just left, CFO I guess, was a big part of their success.

I went back in POTY history to see the winning percents. It was relatively difficult to find the final results. So here is my attempt. The average of the results I found was 144.91%. Since short positions can gain a maximum of 100%, it was better to go long, at least since 2009.

(Does anyone know how to insert an excel spreadsheet into a reply?)

I see a pattern there. When I keep score I do well.

                            Hey JohnHenry,

What happens if your stock gets bought out or otherwise acquired by another company? Thanks.

                                Hi Mimo,

I would think you get the price of the last trading day of that stock symbol. For example, if you picked ABC stock and XYZ stock purchased ABC. You get the last trading price of ABC before the merger because you picked ABC not XYZ.
We can discuss more if you like for fun.
