Pure speculation, but not as impossible as it would have been 2 years ago.
1. Create crisis
2. Have your agents or family short appropriate stocks (thru several layers of transactions preferably using foreign banks)
3. Sell after taking profits and announcing you were just "thinking out loud" about what you might do.
4. Deny, deflect, distract, attack those that accuse you of wrong doing. Your stooges are in place. You can't be indicted.
5. Hint at pardons for those unfortunates that are caught.
6. Leave office when state and federal laws can no longer be manipulated in your favor. Claim sanctuary in a country that admires your way of doing business.
No politician would be crazy enough to attempt something like this, would they?
