I would like to report the birth of CNBC anchor Kelly Evans' fifth child (one at a time) since she married in 2017, a pretty good pace. For the first time her girls now outnumber her boys. Just noticed she's got a hash tag #5under6 so maybe it took her a few months to get started. Still more impressive.

For the duration I'm going 50% in stocks and 50% in US treasuries with maturities 1 year and under. If the market goes up (and it often does in the last quarter) I'll make some money in the stocks and about 5.5% at an annual rate in the treasuries. If the market goes down I lose on the stocks, but I'm only 50% in and again I get about the same 5.5% at an annual rate in the treasuries to soften the blow.

Whereas the S&P 500 has crossed the 50-day and post Jackson Hole trend has been positive I bought two Fidelity funds, FBGRX (blue chip growth) and FSPTX (tech). Paid a $75 fee for each, standard Fidelity crap. No wonder the richest person in MA is not Patriots owner Bob Kraft but Abigail Johnson who inherited control of Fidelity. I have never dealt with Fidelity before, though they are headquarted in Boston, but I'd like to explore having some portion of money parked in some solid investment place and their funds do have good records. FSELX (chips - not one I bot) has been amazing considering it invests in established companies. We'll see what happens.

Gina Raimondo has been getting lots of good publicity concerning her trip to China. Heard for the first time just now that she is being groomed to replace that person who is now vice-president on the Democratic ticket next year.

It always trips me out to think about the 20-somethings in those 60s videos all being 80-somethings now (if they made it to now). But those grannies sure knew how to get down and boogie back in the day!

Thanks for that. I always enjoy the dancing from that era. Rather risque for the times, I gather. Kind of the birth of twerking.Originally posted by billyjoe View PostDon't think this version has been posted. Not many views of the band though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjwTJsAHkDg

The song was put by a one hit wonder band called the Human Beinz. One of the members of that group lives close by to me. When he was still working at his day job, he had his gold record hanging on his office wall.Originally posted by mimo_100 View PostI listened to this song this morning in my deep water aerobics class.
Does anyone remember these dances?
Nobody can do the (Shing-a-ling) like I do
Nobody can do the (Skate) like I do
Nobody can do (Boogaloo) like I do
Nobody can do (Philly) like I do

Interesting you knew I like Lana. Mayhap I posted something from her. [later] Now I remember I did say I needed someone to dance under my architecture.Originally posted by jiesen View Post
The two Lana's I play most often:
And another recording which features a song I like a lot and a film scene I like a lot (from Once Upon A Time In America not the movie the song is from). Well executed methinks:

Here's Miley to cheer us up some. She's done an excellent job on her bod. Twerking has improved too. Any girl who uses battle ropes must be taken seriously.

Looking at two ETFs, FQAL and SPHQ. Each invest in the stocks of so-called High Quality companies, AAPL, BRK, etc. SPHQ just hit a 52 week low. It troubleth me. If the in theory best stuff can't rally can the markets go any where?
