Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (HOFV)

HOFV closed at $9.25 on July 2, 2020. I live close by. It is an interesting speculative play and I am going to buy some next week.

CANTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HOF Village, LLC (“HOF Village”), the owner of the multi-use sports, entertainment and media destination centered around the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, today announced the completion of its previously announced business combination with Gordon Pointe Acquisition Corp. (“GPAQ” or “Gordon Pointe”) (NASDAQ: GPAQ, GPAQU, GPAQW), a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company. The resulting company is named Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (“HOFV” or “the Company”), and its common stock and warrants are expected to trade on the NASDAQ Capital Market under the ticker symbols “HOFV” and “HOFVW,” respectively, on July 2, 2020.

Below is a link to the original plans. There are manual slide show icons below the image on the first page. Here is an interesting statement on the "smart city" concept.

"A professional services contract calls for Johnson Controls’ products, services and solutions used within the Hall of Fame Village including the museum. This will provide for the creation of a showcase “smart city” with the company providing its building management systems, HVAC equipment, fire and security systems and other technologies that will assure world-class environments and yield significant operational cost savings over the life of the agreement."

Okay, I'm sure IMPRESSED. The only question in my mind is WHY? There has to be some kind of huge financial (or political?) incentive here somewhere. I have always had great respect for this company and always hoped at least one of my grandchildren would land there. (Not yet, but there could possibly be one in the future). Thanks for the info.
