eeek- what's with the new format? I liked the old one better!
we're working on it...we had to switch over for a number of reasons..Richard should be sending out an email shortly. I noticed with this format, you can "subscribe" to threads so you get email notifications on posts..kind of like the old Yahoo way, if you liked that.=============================

hey! OFG made it back to 31, just about where we bought it. In fact if you count the (ever increasing) 2% yield, finally up on this one!
Looks like this one is on a steady track for a certain 15%.
Once again, a fine pick, $$MM... You are HUGE!!!

Oriental Financial Group Board Increases Cash Dividend by 10.71% and Declares 10% Stock Dividend
Tuesday November 30, 3:14 pm ET
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2004--The Board of Directors of Oriental Financial Group (NYSE:OFG - News), a leading financial holding company in Puerto Rico, today increased the Company's quarterly cash dividend by 10.71% on current shares outstanding and also declared a 10% stock dividend.
Oriental has increased its cash dividend in each of the last three years. In addition, it paid stock dividends of 10% each in January 2004 and March 2002 and declared a 5-for-4 stock split in January 2003.
"The increase in our cash dividend - a result of our solid earnings performance - is in keeping with our long-standing policy of sharing growth with our stockholders and encouraging long-term ownership," said Jose Enrique Fernandez, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
A cash dividend of $0.155 per common share, up from $0.14 paid previously, will be payable on January 14, 2005 to holders of record on December 30, 2004. Cash in lieu of stock will be paid for fractional stock dividend shares based on the price at the market close on the record date of the stock dividend.

Does anyone know if there's a difference between a "special'" dividend like the 3.00 per share one MSFT just paid and the 10% dividend that OFG will pay? I assume that shares of OFG will open 10% lower around December 29th. How does a "special" dividend differ from a dividend that is 10% but not referred to as "special"?

This is a win/win situation. It could hit the target price as it get's closer to the ex-divey date or you can hold it & it will keep on paying you!
