Who are the Titans..

OK... I am a little off my game today because of the time change and getting married in 40 days BUT for the life of me I can't figure out

1) Who are the Titans

and

2) What are they doing in Atlantic City at the end of the month.

The only Titans I can think of are from Tennesee

My Stag is on April 24th !!! But in Niagra Falls. We are taking a couple vans (we have 13 guys in the group) to gamble, drink, and visit many gentlemen clubs in Niagra.

Maybe I can have my best man detour the vans a few hours and stop in AC and we can buy you 13 beers (one for each one of the group) before we head back up to Niagra.

Who are the Titans?

That's my alma mater - University of Detroit Titans - home of the late, great hall-of-famer Dave DeBusschere. Most people don't know that he was also a pitcher for the White Sox for 2 years, compiling a 3-4 record and a 2.90 ERA. He dropped baseball in 1962 when, at 24, he became player-coach of the Pistons. He was traded to the Knicks in 1968, where he was part of those great Knicks teams.

In basketball, as a player, he was a 3-time All-American, 7-time NBA all-star, 6-time NBA All-Defensive first team and a member of NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. He was the general manager of the ABA's New York Nets in 1974, then became the commissioner of the American Basketball Association a year later, where he was instrumental in the 1976 merger of that league into the NBA. In May of 1982, he was named general manager of the Knicks where he drafted center Patrick Ewing of Georgetown.


U of D is also where Dick Vitale was 78-30 as a head coach after being an assistant at Rutgers.

Who are the titans?

The Titans of old were ancient God's that predated the Olympians. The most famous was atlas who held the world on his shoulders. Like the Titans of old "The Titans" Alpha and Omega are godlike bipeds that live life with reckless abandon. Feats of strength, fighting (in their youth), drinking and debauchery are cardinal Titan tenants.

There are only a few places that can hold the Titans when they come to conclave. Vegas and AC are the most frequent haunts. So if you want to live the dream, Saturday night the 24th is the time and the place will be Harrah's.
