Elan: Numerous Near Term Value-Creating Milestones on Tap
For Elan, we are forecasting EPS of ($0.25). Of much greater significance to
the company's outlook, we see a number of key value-creating milestones
on tap over the next six months. First and foremost, the company is
expected to file regulatory applications in both the United States and
Europe for Antegren, the principal valuation driver for Elan, for the
treatment of multiple sclerosis by mid-year. Then in early October, we
expect the presentation of the one-year interim Antegren MS results at the
ECTRIMS conference in Vienna, Austria.
Other key events we expect include (1) the submission of an amendment to
the FDA for the Prialt new drug application within the next two months, (2)
approval for Prialt in 2H04 - given management's confidence in a two
month review, (3) resolution of the ongoing SEC investigation, perhaps
over the next few months, (4) clarity on the FDA approval pathway for
Antegren for the treatment of Crohn's, and (4) progress, and perhaps some
Securities Inc. clinical results, from the Alzheimer's disease program, currently in Phase I
testing.

Wow, pretty aggressive entry there.

You might want to reconsider that entry and look for 21.65ish - which is the intraday pivot point, or 22.00 at a test of support at Friday's HOD, or even 22.10, a 5 min 100 simple moving average. Your current entry is at the upper 20 day channel, so I would expect some resistence up here, and a look for support at the pivot.

I bought some shares at a flat $20..
I feel as long as there is new news once every two weeks investors will continue to run bull,, However,, I have seen a many times where stocks are run up on pure news and spec..(i know king will tell me earnings) My only doubts with this stock is the fact that investors who still hold from the drop of three years ago will start to dump shares around the 25-30$ price target..
I also feel that Headlines such as this Biogen Idec and Elan Announce Intention to Submit Antegren for Approval for Multiple Sclerosis in Europe are warping the price,, the key word in this statement is SUBMIT.
Investing is 90% pshyc,,, and this stock is all of it right now.
