  • LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON MUTUAL FUNDS

Hey everyone. I am new to the market and you guys are way out of my league. Especially $$$MR MARKET$$$. That guy is HUGE.
Anyways, I am intrigued by the market and interested in individual stocks, but I am VERY busy right now and will be for some time. I don't have time to continually check the market, not even daily. But I have some $$$ to invest and I feel safer putting it in mutual funds. I am looking for some advice on some favorable funds. Thank you, Kevin

    Big Bucks,

I have no mutual fund to recommend, but I do have something that is a winner and about as safe as it gets. You won't have to watch these things every day and worry about the stock price. They generally move only a couple of cents per day. A three cent move is about normal. Call your broker, and order shares of Paramount Energy Trust on the Toronto Stock Exchange. If you fill your order today, 25 June 2004, you'll receive a nice monthly check that comes out to 17% per year. You may also see some price appreciation in your share price. These companies are oil and natural gas companies and pay you a royalty on the oil they sell.

PMT.un Paramount Energy Trust (about 8.56/share USD; pays .16 Canadian per month (that's .12 US) and 60% is Tax free

AY.un APF Energy Trust (about 8.57 share, pays .16 Canadian monthly)
and 25% is tax free. Must order by 25 June to get paid 15 July.

NVG.un Navigo Energy Trust 7.89 per share, pays .15 Canadian monthly
and about 49% is tax free. Must fill order by 25 June to get paid 15 July.

Full disclosure: I've got thousands of shares of AY and PMT and 400 shares of NVG.

Also, taxes are not a problem, so don't sweat that.

If you are a newborn, like I am, these things are a God-send. This is a great place to break into the market.

The best investing to you always,

IMO, The Fool.com is the best site to bone up on just about any subject.
They have tons of free info on mutual funds. Best you educate yourself,
then you will be comfortable with whatever decision you make.
