What do you like about the mrmarketishuge.com website?

...and what do you hate about it?? List one thing. I want to hear from all members...even if you are shy or a lurker say, "I like to lurk" and be gone.

I like the picture of me and my friends and 1000 beers in the foreground.

I like all the insight and different p.o.v from everyone, espically Spike's adherence to stops and timed entries. All the good discussion on stocks, strategies, and news is fun. Oh and the tournaments are fun as well. The new site software is uber slick too.

One thing I don't like is MrMarket's sometimes conflicting statements and general dodgeishness (I think thats a new word!).

I like the fact that the people here seem to actually have fun while trading. I believe I've mentioned before that the folks on the IBD boards seem to have their panties in a wad. Life is too short to be uptight about little things like money. I could lose every penny of my trading account and it wouldn't make a bit of difference in the way I live.

This is my first year of trading, but I've done very well. I give a lot of credit to this site for my early success. Drink a beer, put some cash on the line and have fun...that's my motto. This site rocks!

Indeed, webs, this I finished my first year in mid october and this site has been very educational (and on occasion profitable). I do like the fun atmosphere, and all the disagreements are civil and respectful.

          Why I like MrMarketishuge forum.

          MM,

I love this site and read it several times per day. To list just one thing would be criminal. I love this site because the people here are very kind and helpful to one another. A person can take a diffo point of view and no one takes it personally. (I have read some forums where if someone disagrees with another, it is cause for name-calling and bitter remarks). It is also a fun forum to participate in. I often call my wife in to read some of the funny things people post. IIC and Spike are very educational. MM's picks are great to read. The forum is a community of investors who are working together to better everyone. I enjoyed the Pre-Presidential contest, too. I would like to own an official Mr.Marketishuge forum polo shirt. It would be great if some time, some place, we could actually have a get-together. Karel would have to fly over from Europe.

If you ask me what I don't like about it, the answer would be only these three things: I'd like to see us cut out the cursing, cut out the bragging, and for some of us to please do a better job of spelling.

My thanks to Ernie for this site. My best wishes for all of you investing. God bless you all.

I like this website because you can pick up different ideas, read about different investment styles, and learn more about the market in general. You can never have enough knowledge when it comes to investing. Also, these boards are extremely civil as compared to the Yahoo boards ... makes reading much easier.

My favorite thing is that I like to give Webs a hard time But I am disappointed that he didn't change his avatar this week

But seriously, I like to read the different methods and ideas mentioned...I won't mention names...because I know I would forget to mention some significant one's...but there are some very good, albeit different types of styles, here.

I for one, always want to learn...it is a never ending process IMO. But one thing, especially for newbies, I highly recommend that you do not do something just because someone else does...and I include myself...Take your time, if you pick up something from someone, then mull it over...check it out...but most of all...determine for yourself it is right for you...Reminds me of something Ernie posted once somewhere..."There's more than one way to skin a cat"...and I wholeheartedly agree...Just make sure that you are comfortable with whatever style you follow and be slow to make changes...There's no big rush...the market will always be there.

I would also like to encourage newbies to ask questions...I don't know about the rest of you...but I often learn quite a bit when someone asks me a question....Makes me think!

One last thing...I am quite surprised that a few who have posted are relatively new to the market. I have been around for well over 20 years and I thought you were more experienced. Take that as a compliment...you must be fast learners...good for you!

              Best To All...Doug (IIC)

This has to be the best free site for financial discussion available. The reason I like it is the quality and care that all the people posting here take in their discussion, rather than the bashing and running that's typical of most anywhere else.

The one thing that I miss from the old site format, and would be nice if we had it back, was the ability to view the member list by date joined (I am curious to see who the new "faces" are around here). Aside from that, that one thing I just don't like about this site is the fact that nobody I tell about it bothers to join. "Stocks? Why buy stocks when we can go to the mall and get orange mocha frappuccinos instead!" Sheesh, why can't everyone get it, like we do?

One gripe only: searching seems limited. I'd like to be able to search a word and be given a list of every post with that word in it, and to be able to sort those results by date, number of replies in the thread, etc. At the moment, you can search but you're only given the thread the word appears in, and if a thread has many pages, it's a pain to manually look for the relevant entry.

The fundamentalists, the technicalists ,and the dartists all get along without being judgemental. It is not a cult. It is not a cult. It is not a cult. Now everyone chant " Mr. Market, Mr. Market, Mr. Market, Mr.Market, Mr.M, Mr.M,Mr.M,MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM". As director of media relations all inquiries go through me. The Huge One will emerge from his compound with a statement when the markets are in alignment.

In one post above or another, someone has mentioned my exact sentiments about
this site. Cheers for MrMarket and everyone on this board.

I don't get to spend as much time here as I would like, but the time I do
spend is very educational. I do give out a link to this site to
investors who are serious about their investments. That fact alone says
a lot about my feelings towards this site. MrMarket is HUGE.

Use Advanced search, it is a little better, can filter for number of replies, and allows you many more sorting options.

From the main page (or anywhere) click "Members List" Click "Search Members" (upper right, above "Avitar") choose "Advanced Search" Scroll down, there is an option to sort by Name, Join Date (what you want) Post Count, and Last Visit, You'll want to set it to "Decending Order" to get the newest members listed first. FYI, most of the new members have 0 posts anyway.
