It's like this, Ski:
Webs invites the IBD community to $$MM$$'s site.
Mark Sharky accuses Webs of spamming.
Webs says that's impossible, since $$MM$$'s site is free.
Somebody says $$MM$$ looks like Saddam (WTF).
I also chip in 2 cents about how this is a good site.
Webs and I are then labelled $$MM$$ brownnosers.
Webs then labels that guy a WON brownnoser
etc...

How many of you have been to Mr Market's website? If you haven't, you should check it out. It's a great place to talk stocks and it's totally free!

I've been there. I must admit that it's a trip. No doubt, Mr. Market must be a descendant of an Egyptian Pharoah. He has pictures of himself all over the site.

I would hardly call my post "spam", dear sir.
If I were trying to push a site that cost money to access, I would then be spamming.
Mr Market's site, however, is totally FREE! I have been thanked by many people for letting them know about it.
Mr Market's site is not just about Mr Market. As a matter of fact, not everyone at his site trades like he does or agrees with his trading methods. That's what makes www.mrmarket.com so great. You can draw from the resources of many fantastic traders and develop your own methods. If you think that stinks, then you should keep your head stuck in the sand and remain here on the IBD boards.
For those of you who are more open and are willing to explore all trading styles, feel free to drop by! You'll be glad you did.

Webs, I think your side of the argument can be simplified:
IBD forum: One oustanding investment mind (Poorman) and a gaggle of CANSLIMers
$$MM$$ forum: TA experts (Spike, Runner), Bottom fishers (Jiesen, Webs), small cap growth (Stenzrob), Day trading (IIC), and earnings earnings earnings ($$MM$$ himself).
I recognize that many here are turned off by $$MM$$'s bragging nature, but let's not let that cloud the fact that he's a solid investor, and most importantly, shrewd enough to recognize that his method is not the only way to make money (he's actually stated that himself many times). That's why he runs a FREE site, and awards personal threads to other expert investors who know their stuff, despite how radically their investment strategies differ from his own.
The bottom line is that it is difficult for one to develop his/her own investment strategy when being exposed to only a handful of ideas.

Webs-
I like Mr. Market and the site. I think that he is a good personality and I like his attitude. Of course I don't agree 100% with his investment philosophy but that's o.k.! I think that he sounds to me like a good guy that's living the American dream. Here's to that!

I haven't really checked out $$$Mr Market$$$, so I can't say this or that about his methods, but I can say that I actually think it's funny the way some of his adherents run around promoting him...it reminds me of how fans of radio shock jocks go around crank calling other talk shows and saying stuff like "HOWARD STERN IS THE KING OF ALL MEDIA! BABA BOOEY! BABA BOOEY!"

Promotion is the only way people learn about a site. If not for the "spammers", i'd have never heard of MrMarket's forum. A forum which i have actually gotten useful info from.
Even if you prefer this location, it never hurts to have alternate sources of information. Especially being that it's free. I don't understand why anyone would really care that they post about it here. Always better to have more information and resources, then less.

Spammers pump paid sites. Mr Market's site is a free site.

It never hurts to have 800+ readers all buying the same stock you have already bought either. Kind of indirect way of making money.

Out of all due respect Poormans, that statement could not be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, very few members on the Mr Market forum actually buy Mr Market's picks. Even if we did all buy his pick, it's not enough to influence stock prices.
People buy your picks all the time. Do you think it influences a stock price? I doubt it.

I doubt it too as I don't have near 800 followers either. For someone who never sells losers and has probably 60 consecutive winners, why wouldn't all 800 readers buy every pick - after all he is the best picker in the world. Actually, we like a number of the same stocks and I don't have any qualms with his picks.

You know I try not to get into MrMarket discussions, but sometimes I just can't help it.
Mr Market and his followers can make all the hollow claims they like, but, to attack you or your site is absurb.

You seem to be misguided my friend. This is not Bruces site and I would never attack him. Poormans site is www.poormans.com , which I might add is an excellent site. I highly recommend it.
I must say that Poormans has been a blessing to the investing community. I owe a lot of gratitude to him and Mr Market. they are both very generous individuals.
From the very beginning,I have been very successful in my trading. Take my advice when I say that you should keep an open mind to all styles of trading and take advantage of all resources available, whether it be IBD, mrmarketishuge.com, Poormans.com, Breakoutinvestor.com, Motley Fool, or any other investing site you may find. they all have excellent information. Open your eyes to the world and you will surely be successful!
Best to you!
