Give me CVX long. btw Lye, I'm curious if you've been penalizing me for the first 3 weeks of January. If you are then I protest, with the cash position rule, it should be assumed that a non-player is in cash.

Well Banana Boy ...Rules are Rules...and I don't particularly agree with all of them either...In fact, I coulda been a contenda if Lye had let me make a third pick on Friday (Even though I don't see anything in the rules prohibiting such)...But, since I'm not gonna volunteer to be scorekeeper I will go along w/ whatever rules...no matter how bizarre...that the scorekeeper presents.

BTW LYE...I will be on a 3 day cruise for my B-day in April...so put me down for cash starting April 17th.

However, my vote is that the violators of the penalty rule be given amnesty for the month of January...Heck, it takes a month of the reading rules to even understand them...Doug(IIC)

Now.... I might (sometimes) enter a player who does not want to play.... But I'll never assume a player actually wants to play.

If you aren't assuming a player wants to play then why would I be penalized for the weeks I missed. You would be assuming I wanted to play those weeks. If someone enters the contest on , say the second week of July, are you going to penalize them for the 25 or so weeks of 2006 he didn't play? If I remember right, the contest was restarted at the beginning of January, so just because I played last year doesn't mean you should assume I was going to play this year.

The cash provision was designed to show a player's "intent to play"

I thought it was to allow players to implement their own stratigy, be it buy and hold or stalking a quick play.

A player MUST make "some sort of" effort to be entered into ca$h or a stock each week.

Why must a player show effort. I disagree with you here, I think a player (if you are going to assume I'm playing at all and will then count the weeks I've missed) who doesn't make a pick should be assumed to be in cash.

If it was because you were off protesting gun laws down in Florida?.... you're screwed dude!....LOL

We could discuss gun laws and how crazily absurd flordia's law is anytime.

I'm interested Park...I have ideas of how to run the contest too...But let's face it...Being scorekeeper is not a "Paying" job. I don't know about you...But I co-mod 2 small groups...Guess I'm still the moderator of Yahoo CSSP(Over 1600) since I didn't delete the group yet and I Mod Breakouts which consisted of over 300 Canslimmers who got tired of me posting all my Daytrade stuff...so that group is dead too.

I will admit...I've met a lot of good people over the years because I moderated groups...Most come and go...But I have met over 60 people in person that I originally met from stock groups...Some I still trade ideas with...Some are true friends.

Anyway, the contest is fun...Doesn't mean the best trader/investor in real life is the winner of the contest...The contest is just to share ideas IMO. I personally check out certain people's pix...I believe that is what it is really all about...Just to share ideas...So IMO...It really doesn't matter what the rules are...And yes...you are one of the people I pay attention to...Best, Doug(IIC)

Lye though you would get a chuckle out of article in NY Post which states that "Gay cowboys are coming out of the corral in droves since the release of the controversial film Brokeback Mountain ." Wow that's definitely one corral to stay away from ......LOL. Lye have have a great week.
