My first pick for the contest:

I am going with JILL long...I liked the fact that they got quite a bit back at the end. I also think the Talbot takeover rumour is true...although the outlook presented will probably affect the $20 buyout rumor...I think it will fill the gap this week. In reality, I think if the outlook was so bleak the downgrade would have been to sell...not hold.

Heck...looking at my scans...I don't like anything...well, I've got JILL...put me down for WTSLA again this week too.

Maybe I should go look for some short candidates...although, shorting is against my religion

I don't own any of these, but here goes:

MANC will likely get a short term dead cat bounce after getting hammered on earnings. Personally not touching it, though.
BBSI - I like the business model. They are an outsourcing outfit that basically covers an entire HR department. Good profit growth. I'd consider buying, but it's extended.
SNHY - Industrial hydraulics equipment maker. Interesting flow control cartridge technology. Good growth. Also an extended stock. Awaiting a pullback.

SYXI-good earnings and earnings growth... only 5 mil in debt and 50 mil in cash

That's right Billy Joe I sold it amid that $1.70 drop earlier in the week.

You make me think, though, perhaps I shouldn't put a stock in the contest which I don't currently believe in. Scratch MANC, although it'll probably do OK this week after it opens in the basement.

Plus my having two pix instead of three makes the roundoff easier
