No one will ever be Manhattan except Manhattan. So I guess you're right on that front. It's hard not to be somewhat envious but NJ is doing a pretty good job with the renovations and rebuilding of the Hoboken and Jersey City waterfront areas directly across from Manhattan. In a subtle way NJ is creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere and big city environment across the river from Manhattan without alot of the negative baggage that comes with Manhattan an alot of people are getting caught up in it. The area across the river in the Meadowlands area will eventually be a metropolis in it's own right. There is alot of undeveloped land out there yet to be used and that is one thing that Manhattan doesn't have that NJ does have.
But in a few more years they can have it all and do what they want here in NJ. I'll be liquidating and selling off everything that I have here and taking my brains and money to somewhere near the Charlotte, South Carolina seashore area to ride out whatever time I have left in that old world southern charm and hospitality.

      Loooooong Day.....

Fellas.... Very Long day for me. No way I can get the score in tonight.... I'll post it tomorrow evening.

btw.... I need to recruit scorekeepers. If you're interested please PM me. Rob was a superb scorekeeper last week. Who else would like to give it a shot?.... It would be nice for someone to commit to keeping the score for a month at a time (or even two weeks). It takes about 1 1/2 hours to post the innitial scorecard on Monday's.... then about 30 minutes per day thereafter. It really is fun if you can fit it in. You will need access to a one minute intraday ticker to figure the intraday trades. Rob and I both use Ameritrade.

I'm very sorry for not posting it tonight.... I am just too darned spent.
      BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

Well...Even though I suspect that you brought in Rob as a ringer to double team me...I think he is the best scorekeeper we ever had and I think we should make him permanent scorekeeper...Whether he likes it or not!!!

Now...Speaking of Boston...What a H*llhole...One of my Grandmothers lived there...I was there in '61 and '69...I was 16 in '69 and I got accosted by a mugger...At least that's what I think he was...Right in front of the Commons...or was it Blackstone Sq.???...Geez...All these people walking by in the afternoon...But I kicked the guy in the chest and took off...Nothing like that ever happened to me in LA...Doug

Do you mean Charleston SC?.... Charlotte is 3-4 hours from the coast and it's in NC. Both are nice places to visit but way too crowded for me.

You might investigate the Shallotte, (Calabash, Ocean Isle) North Carolina area. That's where I like to go fishin'. It's about 45 minutes from my parents farm which is in Columbus County NC....

                        Public Service Announcement

If you want to receive email alerts whenever there's news about your favorite stock, or anything else under the sun for that matter, you can go to Google Alerts (BETA) enter your search term(s), select News from the first drop-down box, as-it-happens from the second drop-down box, and enter your email address in the last box.

Be careful which terms you pick. For example, if you own shares of Apple, you wouldn't want to use apple as a search term, unless you want hundreds of alerts, one for each time the word apple appears in a news story, even if it's about a piece of fruit. Instead you would want to put something like AAPL or "Apple Computer" (with the quotes).

This has been a public service announcement by a Google shareholder.

p.s. Have you ever experimented with Google Earth? It's awesome. In fact, it's HUUUGE!

                          Thanks Rob, thats great!

alerts.yahoo.com lets you do something similar. Push "Get started" then "stocks". But it will only alert you when the price has risen/fallen a certain amount or percent.

Turned out to be a great one too. As of today it looks as though you've captured the lead position. I'd say that's a good enough reason to tilt a cold one ... or two.
