      All Fired Up

Yeah, I first heard of it a couple days ago. When they said something about it being in or near the Montvale area, my first thought was: I wonder if it's anywhere near [Lyehopper's] place. My second thought was: Wow, if it hits those Montavale oil tanks, that'll be huge! I'll be looking forward to your pictures.

I must add that having lived in California for many years, I guess I got so jaded by the size of the fires out there that a 3,000-acre fire sounds small by comparison. Obviously it's not small, and particularly when it's close to one's own property! But check this out: In October 2003 there was a wildfire in San Diego County called the "Cedar Fire" that burned over 280,000 acres (about 438 sq. mi.)! That's almost 1/3 the size of the state of Rhode Island! Lawd, that's huge!

NASA has an interesting page with pics of wildfires from space.

                Doug,
One of my favorite obscure rock trivia questions involves Jimi Hendrix and his drummer Mitch Mitchell. They both were in groups with very similar names at about the same time. What were the names of the groups?

Hendrix was in Jimmy James and the Blue Flames

Mitchell was in Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames*

*you'd have to be about 50 years old or older to remember their monster hit
"The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde"

"they used to laugh about dyin'
but deep inside them they knew
that pretty soon they'd be lyin'
                beneath the ground together
pushin' up daisies to welcome the sun
                and the morning dew"

Here ya go. I used irfanview to reduce the number of colors to 100 and it's now small enough to upload.

                      thanks Spikester

I did sell off my GEHL yesterday. Thank GOODNESS! It will fall further. I'll buy it back sometime.

btw.... ESLR is a good short play.... imo.

Don't look now...But I'm green now that we shook out all the weak holders...Doug
