With the current rules I don't fault dmk...He took a chance on eps and he called it right...But I'd really like to see a more realistic contest...Let's take David Ryan as an example...He was the Portfolio Manager for IBD or WON or whatever...He won the National Investing Championships 3 years in a row with a 3 yr gain of something like 1300%...There was no prize...But you had to invest a real $500,000 portfolio...So what did he win? Well, besides the 1300% my guess is that he set himself up for a lifetime of job offers...Why didn't he enter for a fourth year? I don't know...But my guess is that he had nothing to gain and a whole lot to lose by that time.

Last I heard he was running his own hedge fund in Santa Monica...Let me go check to see if that's still the case.

I'm back...apparently he is still in business as Ryan Capital Management...although it is easier to find me on the internet than his company...Wonder how he's doing? I heard him speak once...Seemed like a very sharp guy with a good personality and movie star looks...But that was in the 90's...So who knows???

Actually, I didn't even know they were reporting - I picked it b/c of the b/o on 4/06 of a two month base. Never thought that it would go up the way it did. But I mean earnings/news is what usually drives stocks up anyway...I guess I just got lucky there, who knows.

$100 POTW bet (get clobbered) = 00.00

No OTCBB stocks.... No stocks under $10.... Average Volume must be above 50k shares per day.

This in not a "bet" Shadow. The word "bet" is synonymous with gambling. I never gamble. There is an "entry fee" to play the new game. Certain fee's are tax deductable you know. If you lose your $100 bucks just look at it as a business expense.lol

lol.... Well it's sorta "out of season" right now. For some strange reason "The GoJi's" available about two months after the apple harvest in these mountains. It becomes a rare commodity after then. But I've got my eyes open for some. You're at the top of the list.

One of the main reasons I play the POTW is to possibly make myself a bit shrper of a short-term basis trader. I like to look at the longer term picture and invest accordingly, which I will fall back on as my excuse for not doing better in this contest.

For that reason I am not willing to join the $100-ante pick of the month, but I'd be willing to keep the score, with say a minimum of two updates per week, if it's agreed that the winner forks over a mere 10% of the pot to me.
