Hey DEF.... Ever think of buying a goat? You could buy a decent nanny for about $175.... Then sell the milk to some of those pinko tree huggers out there (probably some of your neighbors).... With your savings on mowing and the milk sales (and cheese if you were inclined) you could justify the purchase and break even the first month.
    BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

You have to be careful with those goats and sheep. The more you look into their eyes the greater the chance of falling in love with the little nanny goat.

He might be a prime candidate for love. He was known at one time as "eye candy" and "love machine".

I've tried to own most of my picks but since a couple of months ago I have decided to own them if I was going to play them in the POTW. I have had to bail in the real account on a couple of occassions where I let them ride in the game which really isn't fair to the overall game average. So I've decided to play it the way I trade from this point forward.

DMK, your pick is premature. You must wait until 4:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday.

LOL...Ya know...even though I live in congested West LA...there was some people in a house about a mile from me who had 2 goats in their front yard up until about 1990...Then they sold out and Condos went up...but even back then i thought that was rather strange for this neighborhhood...Doug

Doug, I don't know if it's still the case, but when I lived in So. Cal. in the 80s, there was a guy who still grazed a herd of cattle right smack in Beverly Hills.

                          Hmmm..never heard of that...But I had some 2nd cousin's in the early 60's who had a mini-farm in Covina...Doug

PS: however there are some big places/lots in the Hills of B.H. I was at Baron Hilton's place in Holmby Hills about 10 years ago...48 rooms...What a spread...Whoa!!!...I swear...I've seen his backyard in some movies.

PSS: I wasn't an invited guest...and I didn't see him...I went with one of my friends who is a custom upholsterer...We were there to look at some chairs he wanted re-done

In my finish carpentry days, I worked in a lot of places like that. I believe I worked in 4 huge mansions in Holmby Hills, just a stone's throw from the UCLA campus and a couple right near the Playboy mansion. Those places are unreal.

I gotta an idea...I'm pretty sure we could get a nice one for about $20mil...So 52 of us get together and each put up 385 grand...Like a timeshare deal...We each get 1 week a year...Since I live close by I'll handle the maintenance on a cost-plus sorta deal. I figure 10% is fair...OK...So Rob's in...Lye probably...Ski wouldn't miss it...Ernie-How can he refuse?...Louetta...well somebody has to yell at me if there is a leaky pipe...Jack probably likes to jet down to the REAL California once in a while...Web's probably needs a break from the BIG House...Billy might like to impress his Heartland friends...Peanuts would probably be amazed at how the Westside lives(At least in my neighborhood)...Dave could invite his Casino Hostess over for the weekend...Then maybe he'd have the clout to get me comped at that exclusive part of the MGM...What is the name???...Oh yeah...THE MANSION...Who else wants in???
