Mornin' Ray!.... Hope you daughter's getting better.Originally posted by RL View PostLye followed your advice for real time quotes, said you would show me some neat features--I'm ready.
I use TD Ameritrade and several others here do too. I know Rob does and Peanuts does too. So if I'm not available I'm sure these fellas can give you some tips along the way.
It's best to try the streaming features during market hours though. Tomorrow morning, remind me.... and we'll get started.BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

My best regards to you and your family. I sincerely wish the best for your daughter's recovery. Lyehopper is right; I use TD Ameritrade and I'd be willing to answer any questions you might have.
You should get your own thread, dude. Even if you can't be too active on it, I would like to know what the #2 overall POTW stockpicker is looking at and what you are thinking of... You can request a Mr. Market authorized thread by clicking: HERE I look forward to it!

Long PCCC
Congratulations Rob! And now Dio has taken his leave from PCCC, I can take it: VOL dropped from the screen and PCCC is the highest ranking stock. I own it myself since monday last week, BTW.

Do you need to open an account for access to their real-time streaming accounts and other resources. I don't think they give it out free to anyone without an account. As an alternative if Ray didn't want to or couldn't open an account at TDAmeritrade, there is Medved Quotetracker. They are completely free and you get the streaming realtime quotes, intraday realtime charts, level 11 quotes, raw data and time and sales, plus a full selection of all kinds of indicators and chart variables to plug into your charts and build them the way you want them for free. I have access to a couple of different online brokersages but Medved's realtime trading platform is what I have on my trading screen all day. I can do everything I want just as if I were doing it through my brokerage from their trading platform. I don't think you can beat it for free and is definitely worth taking a look at.Originally posted by peanuts View PostHi Ray,

Ski, to my knowledge, you need an account with TD Ameritrade in order to use their streaming data. My number 1 reason for using it is that I can pull up a chart (5 days to 1/2 hour) and watch the action as it happens. I do a lot of momentum buying, so I when I am watching the trades happen in real time on the charts, I can immediately put in an order within seconds of seeing the actions in the stock to catch a momentum move up or down. You can also use trend lines on the streaming charts to help you to see a bigger picture of the action. I find it very useful.Originally posted by skiracer View PostDo you need to open an account for access to their real-time streaming accounts and other resources...
I'm sure that there are comparable products out there. But I like to use TD Ameritrade's because it is my trading platform, and I can make the trades immediately as I see the action unfold in front of me. I have never experienced a problem with inaccuracies... and that seems to be an issue at times for others.
TD Ameritrade streamer suite also offers other neat tools like Level II, portfolio streamer, news, depth chart, etc... I don't use all of the tools every day, but it's nice for those days when you need more information.
Geez, I should ask TD Ameritrade for a few free trades after that pump job
