        Rob,

This is 4 weeks in a row now that I have gotten a very unfavorable opening price with my POTW position. THC opened down 50 cents and has drifted higher till now... phooey! That's 8% that I've missed!

Who here is messing with me? I know it's got to be someone here

btw: what's up with the scorekeeping duties? Are you busy or getting burned out? You've been doing such a great job. Lyehopper has big shoes to fill.

Here's a list of the positions so far.

Hope you do well with SAI. Did your investment group buy any? My wife and I got it in our IRA accounts the day it went public and when it dropped a few cents under our entry I bought it again in another retirement account. Just checked and am up 12.13%, 11.81%, and 14.89% in a very short time period.

I bought it at 17.66 and have bought more averaging up, so now my average cost is 18.20. I think it's still going much higher than 20 so am looking to buy much more.

BTW, I asked my buddy in the "investment group" and he confirmed it was the same list of 3 year ratings that you found on the web and published here. So, I can now say the study was done by AAII and I just belong to the local group(s).

                  Doug,
You're right. I remember that. It may have been 5 years ago though.

Doug, please see my response under the IBD Beanstalk (i.e. chopping down). I accidentally posted it there while recovering the original billyjoe post. Thanks.

                        • Scorekeeping Duties?

I see that Rob is giving up the scorekeeping duties here and has asked Lyehopper to take over. Lyehopper says he can't do it. There are obvious reasons why I can't volunteer (e.g., know next-to-nothing about the market and not computer literate enough to make the cool charts). So, who's willing?

                            Rob,
You've been a blessing to everyone of us that ever participated in the POTW. You're commentary has set the standard for POTW's across the planet. I don't think that anyone will meet or exceed what you have done for us and the POTW. Whatever your reasons for giving this up, and God knows that you deserve a rest from it, you have gained the respect and admiration of everyone of us and we are all indebted to you for the time and energy you have put into this thing we call the POTW. But this game is larger than all of us and to let it slip away and disappear from this site would be as big an injustice as not acknowledging what you have done for us. I don't think that I'm going to fill your shoes and I really don't know where the extra time is going to come from but the POTW must and will survive abeit not as entertaining and as colorful as when you were steering the boat. Lay back, take a rest, roll up a big fatty, pour a couple of fingers of the high powered GOJI, which by the way I haven't seen, smelt, or tasted it in what seems to be an eternity, and let the people that must express themselves as they find necessary do what they must, while you relax and enjoy the contest without worrying if you're going to get it to press on time. I'll take the reins for as long as I can stomach these scroundrels. But I will always OPINE for the days when Rob was at the wheel.
The format will change some and the colors will not be as nice but we will continue on, we must continue on. Let them eat cake.

Ha! If this means what I think it means, Rob is highly unlikely to (in other words: will never) "roll up a big fatty" as a relaxation technique. He's more likely to pick up his guitar, have a beer, or eat some chips with some of his homemade, hotter-than-blazes salsa.

Well, Mary, if that's what gets him into that relaxed state of mind then that's what he should do. He definitely deserves it. Let me drive for awhile. A stoned pony but more than capable. Um, is this thing stick shift.
