Are you trying to be a jerk? If so, you have succeeded. If not, I'd hate to see what it looks like when you do try.

      Mary,
Perhaps he meant it as a compliment. When I read your post, I was impressed with how you dug VIAC up. I had never tried to do it your way, but I think I will give it a spin. I sincerely mean it: thanks for the post.

By the way,Tatnic: I usually put a smiley face on the post to try to indicate to our readers that I mean it in a friendly way. The trouble with writing is that people can't see our facial expressions and body language, and that is perhaps 80% of the way we communicate. We always have to be extra careful. I know that sometimes in the past I have written some posts that were not received as I intended.

YOu know, I had this little inkling in the back of my mind that you might think I was being facetious, but I wasn't. Obviously you did a great job finding that company based on what I thought was some pretty decent reasoning. In fact, I spent a good part of the morning looking into stem cell companies because of your work. I haven't found anything yet any better than what you came up with, but I'm still looking. You can believe me or not, makes no difference to me.

that's not really true. I hope you believe me and I wish I hadn't lost my temper a week or so ago and blasted you and rob in one post about the whole swearing thing.

I feel bad that rob thinks he can't post here anymore and enjoy this site, that was not my intent and now he and lye are staying away in protest I'm guessing.

So, if your brother can find it in himself to come back to posting I'm sure he'd make a lot of people happy as I'm sure he is truely missed here. If he's waiting for me to leave then with any luck I'll have to anyway since I'm hoping to be too busy in the not-to-distant future with other conflicting endeavors. Plus I'm headed up north for a week at deer camp so I'll definately be out for about 10 days starting this Saturday.

As you mentioned in the post you wrote just after this one, the reason I immediately jumped to the conclusion that you were being facetious is because of your prior post. As for my "decent reasoning," that type of reasoning is all I have to go on until I learn how to read these charts that you and the other members of this group rely on.

It is an unfortunate truth in our society that lots of decisions are based on emotion. The reason this is unfortunate -- and I think we all know this -- is that emotions are fickle and very changeable. So, if emotional reaction to current events is what affects the market, then anticipated emotional reaction to current events should be looked at along with the company's financial stability, etc. Also, it is important to remember that not everyone who plays the market (which also affects stock pricing) is a financial genius and how those people play the market will also have an effect.

I'm preaching to the choir now, huh? OK. I'll stop.

Ha! Why am I suddenly reminded of the joke about a bunch of engineering experts being very stumped about how to solve the problem of a semi truck being stuck under an overpass when a little boy walks up to them and says, "Why don't you let some air out of the tires?"

Thanks Peanuts. This is a big help for me. Think skiing somewhere like Hunter Mtn., Windham Mtn. or anywhere in Vermont would be nice. Have a great time and be careful driving afterwards.

                      THE DAILY POTW FORM
ALL THE CONTEST RESULTS WORTH READING!!!
ROB's little sister MARY in only her second POTW week ever as a player continues to dominate the leader board for the 4th day in a row. Oblivious to the pressure of holding the top spot MARY strides into the stretch with a .61 lead over the ICEMAN who has been steadily tracking the top of the leaderboard.
ROB slips out of the 2nd spot to 3rd and RL, where did he come from, slips past SKIRACER into the 4th position. SKIRACER was his own undoing as he covered the ACOR short and jumped right into the long position in SNTS which then fell .20 dropping SKI into the 5th spot. There are alot of "IF's going into the last day of the week and it could turn out to be a doozy as there are several players within striking range of the top spot. STAY TUNED!! This could turn out to be a wild ride going into the finish tomorrow. As always here's today's sheet with the results: Tell them where you read it:

That's called poetic license Doug. Actually an oversight on my part but only you would catch that.
