I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. A drum roll for our leader BJ. On top of the board for two days in a row. Can he hold it. Only tomorrow will tell. Way to go BJ.
I think everyone knows what the closing prices were on their positions, so I didn't bother posting them. 5 positions in the black, 1 even, and 6 in the red. That's a pretty even distribution for the 12 portfolios. Some pretty big swings in a couple of them. Good luck over the next two days.
Some big changes today. New leader atop of the board. Drutzen comes charging to the lead down the stretch with less than a furlong to go. There were a few changes in the middle of the order also and here they are in order of finish after today's close:
1. Drutzen +5%
2. Rickflyboy +3%
3. New-Born +2.7% nicely done for a first time player.
4. Runner +2.2% a tie for 4th place.
Skiracer +2.2%
5. Spikefader +1.9%
6. IIC +.08%
7. BJ +.5%
8. Ninner - .07%
9. Ray Long - 3.5%
10. Jiesen - 6.7%
11. Webs - 7.5%
One day left and Drutzen is in the lead. If he holds on to the top spot tomorrow he will take a commanding 4 win lead over a few with 2 wins. Well done Drutzen. No one has exercised any of the options available as far as exiting or adding positions or stops in place. We'll see what tomorrow will bring.
An interesting week as things changed dramatically over the course of the 4 trading days. Drutzen came out on top again to claim a commanding lead in number of total wins. Congratulations Drutzen. Here are the final standing for the week in order of finish and % up or down.
This is the end of my current tour of duty with running this. I signed on for a 3 week stint and tried to generate some more interest and participants going into this week an we had a real good showing. Hopefully someone else will step up to take over this coming week and keep the interest and game going. To be honest it takes a good 30 to 45 minutes to keep track of it every night and it's hard to set that time aside with all the other paperwork and things I have to do to keep my businesses and trading running on even keel.
Thank you for the good work. If this week taught me anything, it is that Drutzen ought to post a little more on this forum.
Drutzen, congrats to you, and what are your picks for next week? I am ready to buy them. And how about posting your picks and giving a little explanation how you pick them, and your trading strategy. It would be helpful to us all.
I'm right there with ya, brother. Serves me right for going against the unstoppable GOOG. My old standbys XING and/or LJPC would have trounced everybody this week, but no, I had to be contrary... oh well, maybe next time.
I think I should still stick with JMDT long, had a 2 day longer consolodation and pullback than I expected, but it looks like it's ready.
SNDA and PWEI look pretty tempting here too.
but then again, I have done pretty well with VPHM and am still holding it.
Ok, let's go with VPHM, earnings were good, and volume has been better.
WTG Drutzen! Great find in VPHM, and a great way to pick based not just on fundamental or technical reasons, but both.
