The Nicholas Brothers with Cab Calloway. I spent many hours talking with the wife of the bass player in this orchestra in 1970 as a result of being a hospital roommate of his brother in law who was in a coma and wasn't very good company.

The Nicholas Brothers with Cab Calloway. I spent many hours talking with the wife of the bass player in this orchestra in 1970 as a result of being a hospital roommate of his brother in law who was in a coma and wasn't very good company.

Actually, I liked the Bill Robinson stair dance better. The Nicholas Brothers are much more virtuoso, agreed, but Robinson makes it look so natural and easy. It just is wonderful to look at.

I think I'd better refrain from voicing my appreciation of Shirley Temple.

Wow. I had never seen the Nicholas Brothers before. When they did the splits, jumping over each other as they came down those giant stairs, I was thinking thoughts like, "Men aren't supposed to do the splits" and "these guys are as athletic as any NFL player." They weren't even out of breath at the end of their performance.

Now, have you got any Ed Sullivan for me?
