Most everyone has already made their plays by then. Usually, no news comes out near the bell on Friday's. That is why volume is low, and most of the volume is selling because people don't want to hold stocks over the weekend.

Conversely, Monday morning is usually heavy buying volume (unless bad news over the weekend)

My OTC BB stock, ADDL was up 25% for me today. beat that! I took some off the table at 1.1

my MSPD was up about that much for the week. although not as impressive as a 25% return in a day, it kicks the snot out of ADDL's return over the same week. (wish I could say the same for the year's return...)
