Well somebody in EH is liking STEC, but I don't see any breaking news, and the volume is falling a little short of throroughly convincing. Any ideas on a reason for the spike, Spike?

No idea...perhaps a late print from this morning's higher trading?? A bit bizarre...

I remember the big earthquake in L.A. back in '94...Everyone was at the store buying bottled water...waiting for more deliveries at jacked up prices...Not me, I just bot beer...they had plenty at regular prices...IIC

                  Riverbabe,
I just took a look at the date of my first post here. It was on 3/03/05. For some reason I thought that I had been posting here longer that that. It seems longer. Before this I was posting at the IBD forum for about 2 1/2 /3 years before, like you, I became disillusioned with the whole IBD scenario. Were you there during that time period. That would have been going back to at least March of 2002 or thereabouts. I can't say that I remember that name. If you were there at that time were you using another name. I remember Louetta and Runner, but he was GEO777 over there. There were some others there then who are here now. Doug (IIC) and MM and probably more but it gets hard to remember all the names. Anyway thank goodness that you found your way here and gave up on IBD. There are some good points within it's discipline that I feel are worthwhile on the fundamental side but other than that I been long gone from it.
So you've been lurking here for over a year and a half. I like that. It's a great show of patience which in my book is one of the most important attributes. Glad that you're here and I'm sure that you'll find us to be a great group to be part of.

Was that the 3-story apt. bldg. on Reseda Blvd. where the 1st floor just got crushed, and the 2nd and 3rd floors basically became the 1st and 2nd? I remember that. Somewhere I have some video of it that I filmed.

My mother-in-law, who lives in Northridge, not far from the epicenter, and whose husband had just died only months earlier, had a lot of damage to her house. My wife and I flew out there within a day or two to help her out. I did a lot of repairs to her house and some of her furniture that had been damaged. The house across the street from hers burned to the ground.

We have some other very close friends out there who live practically right on top of where the epicenter of that quake was. They said they were just waking up but still lying in bed when it hit and that it literally threw them straight up two feet in the air.

While we were there, there was a 5-point-something aftershock centered around Panorama City, another close-by community, which aftershock wrecked some of the repair work I had just done, and I had to re-repair it. Ah, memories.

yep, sounds like that's the one. I believe she lived on the 1st floor, but I'm going to ask her next time I see her to be sure.

Hey Ski...We FINALLY agree on something...LOL

But honestly...Ski's whole post was good...RiverBabe or anyone else...You'll probably find that I am the biggest IBD basher on this forum...I still take the paper...I subscribe to R/T DGO...I was a Looooong time Canslimmer(Since the 70's...I don't even think it was called CS back then)...But I use their data...Not their Outdated "Pie In The Sky...EVER CHANGING" system...Good to see you here...Best, Doug(IIC)

Maybe they FINALLY realized that it is # 2 in the IIC 100???

STEC is also in 4 Parabolic lists. It's best performer in PSP#18 (IIC100 filtered) at +28.74%, 2nd best in PSP#21 (IIC100 filtered) at +21.32%, 10th best in PSP#23 (IIC100) at +1.54%.........and it's also on the latest Voodoo charts filtered list. What a chart too!

Hi Ski and all my other former IBD idols,

I started out with IBD in early 2003. When you announced you were moving here, I decided to pay attention! When IIC (Mr.Breakout) left and they kicked out Mr. M (whom I enjoy/enjoyed immensely) I wasn't happy. All the oldtimers (like Greenday, et al.) are no longer posting. KLINV shows up very infrequently (he has a real job now). You'll be interested to know that Agronul now has his own thread! The style of investing of the great "P" isn't mine. There is also a poster who has changed his posting name at least 6 times in the last 6 months who posts on every single thread - up to 50% of the posts daily. Very tiresome. IBD itself hasn't given me any good leads or good insight recently. I don't know. Like I said, I'm just disillusioned by the whole scene there.

You would definitely remember me, but right now I'd like to remain incognito for a while. I have grown in investing wisdom since then so hope to be able to contribute actively here.
