thanks for the attaboy. I caught the spike last week in MPWR so I exited for a few days. That gain gave me a couple of milestones for YTD (~100% trading gain) so I gave myself a holiday for a couple of days. Lots of good stuff to pick from in the market right now, though have seen a little tailing off this week so far. Options expir, I suppose.

Guys your analysis on stocks is incredible.......I have learned much thanx! Pete
Well, PWI: pays $.30C divy=$.25 per unit USD. At today's price, that's an 11% divy--but take 15% of divy away due to tax . . .$2.55 take home . . .
9.3% after taxes . . . pretty good, don't you think?
Now, just one issue:
It seems that the Canadians have some kind of a person named Gooddale who wants to either put an end to the trusts, or else tax them at higher rates. A decision will be due in January, 2006, so you might hold off buying any Cans right now. I would think Gooddale could not win, but on the other hand, I have been wrong before.
The options on this one are not helpful. Like BPT, worthless.

Thanx once again for your input....I have heard similar rumblings about the Gooddale problem. I will also hold off buying till Jan 06 .....if he has his way.... forget those trusts.....the reward would not compensate for the risk! New born..... busy with buying a new car for daughter and myself and selling the old ones. Life is good I have no complaints! As you had said the dividend is very good.....and through the miracle of compounding....my daughter could be a wealthy woman at retirement. New born ......once again thanx and have a peaceful blessed day!
Pete

I'm out of town now. I am going to be quite busy the next month or so, so I have had to cut back on my posting. But I am glad to answer anyone's question at any time.
NAZ--I think you are justified in worrying. NAZ is at a very heavy resistance level, and it has four tops on it. I don't think it can bust that resistance. We'll have to wait and see.
MARKET HISTORY: market history from 1900 to present states that every single second year of a president is a market downturn year. The single exception, 1986, was met with a downturn in 1987 instead. I think you might take this into consideration somewhat.
TIE: nice play. Congrats to you. Too bad you didn't sell those calls and pick up extra change. Today was expiration day.
SNDK: I cannot post a chart right now. Using a public library computer . . . in Hooterville, no less! This thing is slower than molasses in January. Must be using carrier pigeons to communicate with internet . . . I will be home and
able to post sometime this coming Lord's Day.
FDG: Bought the stock at $34.47 and sold the NOV $35 calls for $1.10. Stock closed today at $35.03--it will be interesting to see if they take my shares for
the three cents . . . if not, I am selling the DEC$36.875 calls for about $1.00. FDG offers a real nice divy of about $1.40 Dec 28.
Post your next picks: I might jump in with you.Last edited by New-born baby; 11-18-2005, 06:38 PM.

Two links below: the daily, and the weekly.
SNDK has taken quite a rap recently, and the bottom, according to my calculations, should be around $53.53--or even lower. You've had two recent touches at $54.35, and I really think she is going to pullback again and break that support line. Hard for me to tell where she will go now as she has had such a terrific run. And that would make me nervous about jumping in now.
The daily:
The weekly:
She has a nice option chain. If I was going to enter here, I'd definitely has an exit strategy (perhaps with the options). Best to ya, man.

FDG--NOV Options
I had sold FDG NOV $35 calls. The Friday closing price was $35.03. The stock was called away after the close--they took the shares for the .03--to tell you the truth, I was somewhat surprized. Now if I can buy the stock Monday below $35, that will be alright, because I like the company!

It's all good
Originally posted by Peter HansenWas looking at three stocks.........GAIA, MIND, and NTRI........In your humble opinion.......which looks best to you? I hope all goes well for you and that life has been good!
Pete!
Yes, life has been very good. I just have been overwhelmed with church (Thanksgiving/Christmas/funerals) and a family reunion, too. Thanks so much for your concern.
Let's look at these stocks you like. As always, we are looking for the best entry we can find.
GAIA:built a most beautiful base, and then popped up. I would like this one better on some sort of a pullback.
MIND:flag pole says she's got at least another $2 in her. HUGE volume spike. Very nice looking chart.
NTRI: keeps making little cups with handles, and moving upwards. Nice, but right now she has moved up out of a cup with handle breakout, and may need a pullback to find the right entry.
God bless. And always good to hear from you. Post anytime, and I will try to give you an answer.

Image Shack is not working right now, but you have a channel touch right now at $50.30. Nice place to enter with a 2% stop loss.
I bought some at $50.53 and sold the $3.60 $50 DEC Calls. Brutal action! Sold the stock at $48.97 and covered the call at $3.00, so I dropped almost $100. UGH!Last edited by New-born baby; 11-21-2005, 12:44 PM.
