I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. NB, well the color thing, IMO, is not as distracting as the excessive width or that logo. I just thought that as long as I was "broaching" the topic anyway, I might as go for the whole enchilada. Hmm ... now I'm gettin' hungry for some comida mexicana.
I'll hold off till 5. There's a place up the road here where they have HUUGE margaritas on Wed. & Thu. from 5 to 9 for $4.50. I can get the burrito especial de carne for about the same, and I'm a happy camper.
Lyehopper: How 'bout it, dude? Do you and Mrs. Lyehopper want to meet Mrs. Rob and me for some Mexican food on Williamson Rd. about 6 o'clock? I'll buy.

She says that would be great Rob
I'm leaving the farm now, headed to get the boy and me a fresh haircut. Call me on my cell to confirm.

Not at all. I should mention, however, that I haven't even talked to Mrs. Rob about it yet. I'm assuming there won't be a problem.
Hey, New-born ... you don't mind if we hijack your thread to make dinner plans, do ya?
I don't think I would, Ray. The reason is that the chart is still bearish. I know it has jumped up these last three days, but today's was a black candle (bearish), the PnF says "$20", and the chart is simply ugly. IF you had options to protect yourself, I would not mind. But if my memory is clear, then you don't use puts or covered calls. And in that case, I'd leave it alone. My gut tells me that CHK is going to give the gains of the past three days back on Friday.
Alice,
So sorry I took so long to answer your question. Well, every gold chart and gold stock I have looked at is in a symmetrical triangle. Whichever way it breaks out, will be the direction of a huge move. SO the answer is: right now, the market is undecided.
Looking at the chart of the US dollar, we have, on the monthly, the formation of an inverted head and shoulders. The formation is not mature, so it may fail. But if it does mature, then gold will sink, imho. If the formation fails, then gold soars.
Saudi Arabia says that oil consumption is going to drop due to "a global recession." They are probably correct. As oil goes, the dollar goes in an inverse direction, and gold with the direction of oil. If oil goes up, the dollar sinks and gold rises. If oil pulls back, the dollar rises and gold sinks.
Alice,
Here are the top rated gold stocks. You might want to take a look at the gold ETF GLD which is made up of a basket of gold stocks. I own TRE and the ETF GLD. TRE is a decent play over the longer term.
