EDIT: just checked the pre-m: RIMM trading at $81.70. After the open, it will probably sink back into the upper $70s, perhaps $79, before she moves higher around 11 am EST.
I fully agree with your view here. I am still looking for 83.24 (maybe today, maybe not) to sell off half, then retire the remaining shares to the back burner where I keep my long term holds. (I do not plan on buying any more).
RIMM has been a long term hold of mine since March of "01, where I picked it up at $14. Now it is time to take some of that profit and retire my margin balance.

Thanks for the kind words. I must point out that currently, I have about 40 positions in one of my portfolios, and they are not all winners (not big loosers either, mainly flat).
The above mentions are just ones that I am very bullish on. By that, I mean I am looking for 20% or better on each.
I have others that I am looking for 4-5% this year. The old expression with the bulls & the bears & the pigs is very true, but I have another expression: It's good to go elephant hunting, but you'll need to shoot a few rabbits on the way so you can eat.
        Happy trading.

        • << I am expecting a huge gap up this morning--a breakaway gap--which will complete the cup. >>

That brings up an interesting question, NB - is a cup a cup when one side is formed by a large gap? I'll do some research and see if that question has ever been discussed.

            • I am watching a couple today that could be decent short term plays:
BDY, Bradley Pharm. Near it's 52 week high, but has a lot of good things going for it.
American Axle (AXL), near it's 52 week low, but declared a divi 2 weeks ago.
China Natural Resourses, (CHNR). They had some problems with NASDAQ delisting them. They are now back up, near record lows and startting to head upward. I would keep a close eye on it and don't get greedy, if you get some modest gains, say net 3%+, walk away.
As always, these are not recomendations, just my personal opinions, and perhaps, some new areas for you to explore. ALSO: I am only watching these, and have not made a decision to go in yet, but will disclose if I do.

Just as a follow up: TTM is trading up again today ( up .45 {2.14%}). With the exception of some interest expenses, all looks good and remains on track for steady growth over the next quarter. I am very bullish here and still look to see 25 on this by mid year (if not sooner).

                  Rimm

                  Geri,
If you look at this RIMM chart, you can see the all-time highs for her: $100.
Today's action, a very, very bullish and powerful $10 gap up, indicates that RIMM is going to have a breakaway gap here. It isn't coming back down anytime soon. Millions and milliions of shares are being traded today on RIMM.
I think she hits $100, and could possibly breakout even higher above that level.

CHNR: Shortly after this post, I went in for 300 at 10.93. It is now hovering around 11.45, that's a gain of over 5.35%. I am watching this very closely. I should pull the trigger and move on, but I am going to hold it for a couple of days. Lot's of red in their financials, but I think I can squeeze another .25 out of it in the next day or two. To be on the safe side, I have a stop limit on for 11.35.

Thank you. My stop kicked in at 11.35, and I was able to walk away with a modest gain. I think this stock needs to get back on solid ground before you will see any major gains. There are plenty of others to put your money in besides this one.
BDY is up 3% on the day, and at one time hit close to 3.77%.
AXL was up over 5% at one point today, and will close the day out up around 1%. I was not in either, but will keep a close watch on AXL (which came to my attention after I went into Dana at $4.40 and out at 5.12 in early Feb.
AXL is appealing, and at .66 a share, the dog Dana may have a little life left to it. Remember, Dana has been in the manufacturing business forever, and at .66, their real estate is worth more than that. If you choose to go to Dana, make sure you 1) buy enough to make it worth while and 2) the money you put on it is completely disposable. It may be a while before you get it back.

                                Hot Pick Of The Day

We have these hot ones today:

SU--will bounce today. Closed yesterday at $70.29.
CNQ--will bounce today. Closed yesterday at $54.76.
HANS--hotter than a firecracker. No option chain. UGH!
GooG--pounded yesterday, bounces today. Rich option chain.
SNY--should continue the move up. Just reversed from a long downtrend. Looks inviting.
                                CRDN--reversal today.
                                TS--reversal today.

And last but not least: JLG.
