How can I be bullish with all the fear in the eyes of the traders everywhere? All I hear is "be careful out there" and "caution is the word" and "take profits early" and "be sure of your entry."

I suppose that the bulls won last week, but by how much? Couple of points? I still say we need a 10,200 Dow or less, and the Naz needs a dip below 2000.

BTW, Traders.com says that "GM IS the Dow." And they posted some charts showing that the Dow follows GM by about two weeks. If so, WE ARE IN TROUBLE!

I say bull this week. Last week seemed like the start of nice turnaround in the market to me. Iraq elections being over, and OPEC loosening the spigot right now (of course they'll just tighten it back up again in a month, or as soon as we hit $45/bbl) should help things along with the overall market, since it's pretty much tracking the inverse of the oil prices these days.

The very fact that there exists that "wall of fear" is a reason to be Bullish for the upcoming week. Sentiment numbers are almost always a lagging indicator and so often wrong.
Now if we only can get Jim Cramer(the greatest contra-indicator of them all) to come out as Bearish, we'll be home free!

This just in: last week there was $1 of inside buying for every $12 in sales--folks, that's Bullish! There was $42 or so in sales for every $1 in buying for several weeks in a row. The official demarcation line between bullish and bearish is:

$10 or less in sales to $1 of inside buying=bullish
$11-13 neutral
$14 in sales or more=bearish

$42 in sales=the sky is falling.
