    pfe- Bextra

At Yahoo Finance, you get free stock quotes, up-to-date news, portfolio management resources, international market data, social interaction and mortgage rates that help you manage your financial life.

we all knew this day was coming... we'll it's here now, so here's your chance to scoop up some PFE at a real bargain, if it does indeed tank on this news.

PFE and MRK are not going away just because a few drugs are taken off the shelves. Lawsuits will be settled, and the stock prices will go right back to where they were before the whole mess started.

Besides, if dividends are what float your boat, PFE's once paltry .76 dividend will be nearly 4% if the share price gets down to $20 or so.

Dividends are wonderful pacifiers that keep the nervous holder holding, and encourages buyers to be buying during dips in the market.

Bextra never worked anyway. When my back was messed up, Advil actually was my drug of choice, second to alcohol.

I guess the market was already wise to this anyway. It took this news with a yawn, as PFE is up 0.21 while MRK is down 0.36. Makes sense though, as PFE has taken quite a beating right along with MRK this whole time:

          Bextra etc.

The whole thing has gotten so ridiculous that it would not surprise me (a few years back I never would have thought this) if someone took out (bought) Merck. I guess the big problem would be the lawsuits, but someone like a Glaxo might figure it gives them more of a U.S. presence and get Merck on the cheap for what it could be worth.
