I have received both an email regarding CMN and CMTL. Looking forward to more.
I just re-sent the CMTL email

skiracer, what are the size and width of the attachments you tried to upload. I see that there are height and width limits set in the admin panel, though I don't think I set them, so they might have come from Karel. I tried uploading a chart that someone had posted, and that was blocked because it was too wide.
If you can note any error message that gets kicked back when an attachment tries to post, that can help me nail it.

There were some height and width settings already there; I added one, for JPG. (JPEG had one, JPG not.) Pics that are too wide mess up a thread, so I really think it is a good idea. Resizing before uploading shouldn't be too much of a bother (I hope). If the limit limits too much, I'll change it, of course.
BTW, I made that change when I looked for limits after skiracer's attempt, so it probably didn't affect his tries in the first place.
And of course putting up a link to your own picture files on your own website is a lot easier on our web space and bandwidth.

I just tried the upload again an it failed on me again. The reason for failure to upload was that the file was to big. It's limits were 620x280 and mine were at 417x568. I tried again after that an reduced it to where it wasn't readable and it failed again on the 2nd reduction at 309x420. I guess they are talking about pixels with those numbers.
I'm not really up on this stuff and the programs, Snagit and Advanced JPEG, I'm still learning how to utilize all of their capabilities. I may be able to reduce it even farther and still make it legible but I'm not sure how to do that yet if it's even possible. I wasn't having any problems with the old system you had in place so maybe you could go back to those parameters.Last edited by skiracer; 04-11-2005, 07:07 AM.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

It is now 620x620. It is really worthwile to learn how to reduce your pictures.
Add comments after resizing them! Use a smaller window to make them in the first place! etc. A picture says more than a thousand words, but easily takes up the space of thousands of words.

We're dawdling a bit off-topic here, but no problem. I'll just repeat here what I never tire of saying: don't be too impressed by the generous image size Imageshack allows. Show some consideration for your fellow creatures on modem lines. Images of, what was it, 1024 KB? take ages to crawl along a plain old telephone line.

yeah, dl-ing a 1024 kb picture would take awhile. but most of the pics are in the 60 to 85kb range anyways. Plus if you paste in the right link, you get a little thumbnail version of the picture to squint at before deciding to click on it, and it lists the image size right under it too, so those on dialup know what they're getting into.Buy Low
