  • Changes in MrMarket Model

The Huge One has modified his stock picking model. Check out Ernie's AOL homepage to see the changes. He is now running the R-squared correlation earlier in the screening process as well as using some ranking criteria used on the Quicken stock site, MSN, as well as the IBD overall stock ranking found on their stock checkup site.

He has alos eliminated using the price appreciation divided by the future PE ration in his ranking criteria.

Comments anyone??? (especially from the Large Exalted One HisOwnSelf.....)

Good catch Jeff.... I think these changes make the model more user friendly and a little less mysterious.

I hated future P/E anyway, since it was based on ANAL-ysts and not hard facts. These guys kept lowballing future earnings and a lot of good companies were ranked lower in my model, as a result. This way I take them out of the equation.

To put everyone's mind at ease, I've been running this program in parallel with previous versions of my model for quite some time and there was a great deal of overlap in the results.

Also I eliminated the screen #8 and replaced it with a daily IBD screen, just to add a little sizzle. My old screen #8 used to spit out too few stocks.

    questions...comments?

I'd be careful about using IBD data...But no problem if you want to use any of my data...Doug(IIC)

              Here's a suggestion

              MM,

Here's a suggestion to improve even your excellent model:

Let Jiesen pull the sell trigger for you. You've missed a few hits lately:
CME, TOL, HANS, and FLIR, to name a few.

You worry me some. I hope everything is alright. I know the Yanks are struggling . . . .
